Default Hatfield McCoy - Where to Stay?

I'm planning my first trip to H/M. Me and a buddy will be there July 8 - 11. I would prefer to stay at a "mom & pop" type place near the Browning Fork system, but I'm open to suggestions.

In looking at the different options, it seems that most of the places cater to larger groups in both pricing and accommodations. There are only two of us. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!

Default Hatfield McCoy - Where to Stay?

Just got back from there last weekend! We stayed in an above garage apartment owned by the lady who owns Billie Anns restaurant in Gilbert. Lots of room to park the truck and trailer, can walk to anything you need, very clean (much cleaner/nicer/friendlier than the place we stayed in Mann the previous year), the trailhead is a stones throw away, and there is a new car wash across the street (plus a hose at the house if you're cheap, lol).
The apartment sleeps up to 8 people or so but she charges less for less people. I can't find the cards I brought home but looked up the number to the restaurant (304)664-9700 and any of the ladies there would be able to help you.

If you didn't look under www.trailsheaven.com try that. All the official lodging is in there.
There are several places that will rent a place for 60 a night for the first 2 people and 10 bucks for each additional.

Most places list the max people that they will accomidate, but are resonable for 2 people.

better get your booking early, looks like a booming year at Hatfield/McCoy

Thanks guys! I'll be making the calls in the morning. Hopefully it won't be too late.

Is any place better than another in the evenings? I expect we'll be pretty tired, but it would be nice to have a bar or a camp fire or some kind of entertainment.

Thanks again for the replies!

I agree with Kushman
Stay at Browning Fork. Lisa is a good gal, and RIDES. She understands quads, and quad people. We will be stayng there the first week in October.

I talked to Marty today and made my reservation for July 7 - 10. He sounds like my kind of guy.

Now the waiting begins. But life would suck without something to look forward to.

Cheers!
