Default No where to ride soon in NY

OK everyone, this is it. We all need to put up or shut up. Do you want legal riding areas in NY? You need to do something then. For starters, if you haven't already, please sign our petition here Petition . Thanks.
Next, go to the NYSORVA website, or to just get your legislative contact info. go here Legilative Info . We need to let the legislaters know that we are many and we vote!
Then, you need to join NYSORVA, this is a group of riders that are trying to change the way ATV business is done in NY. It only costs you $10 a year if you don't belong to a club and $5 a year if you do. You spend more than that to put gas in your machine.
I can promise you this, if you DON'T get involved, we will continue to lose riding areas in New York. Make sure that your vote counts!

HA HA NYSORVA, that is a good one. They haven't gotten sh*t in NY and will probably continue to do so. Until they do they'll get $0.00 from me.

And that is exactly the attitude that will get us all nowhere. If all the clubs and individual riders don't band together (like the snowmobilers did) we will continue to get nowhere. We need to act and act now. If you don't act, and we get nowhere and nothing, you will only have yourself to blame.

And this is what we are trying to put a stop to. We need to band together, in the past we have been a bunch of individual clubs all shaking our tiny fists at the government. If we can get more people to join those clubs, get those clubs to organize, and get NYSORVA to speak for all of us, we might get somewhere. Now instead of five little clubs with 50 members each, there is a huge organization with 250,000 members statewide. We need to get everyone to join so that we can say to the government, look how many voters want this to happen.
What have you got to lose by trying?

Sorry but I just don't see the point of giving anything to NYSORVA, NYTRO, etc. They SUCK and haven't done anything.

I don't mind giving to organizations but I need to get something in return. You get a few poker runs a year out of those orgs and nothing else.

If you don't want to join an organization, that is of course your right. But do you think that you could at least sign a petition and/or write to your legislator? To show the politicians that there are a lot of voters that agree with NYSORVA's position on the ATV issue. Even if you don't want to give them your money, at least you can lend your name to the cause.

Default No where to ride soon in NY

I have heard from a lot of friends who would be willing to pay an extra couple hundred dollars a year to the state if they provided more areas open to ATVs. This is a shame because I know there are tens of thousands who feel the same way. New York could do really well and we could have more places to ride if they wanted to solve the problems associated with people riding whereever they could get away with it. Thousands and thousands of acres in state land could be opened up to quads and we would pay if it meant we could use the land to ride on. Many local communities would benefit too.

you know i really have to agree with AJD187 ,i have already given enough to NYS and will not give a penny more ,its bad enough the taxes in this crap state,,but to give money for something were entitled to is just plain ludacris,,
why is it we live in a state with the most amount of forest preserve ,and yet no trails,
also why is it we live in a state that you can drive 3hrs in almost any direction and never leave the state ,
YET it is easier to travel to PA to go riding
nysorva & nytro have had 10+ yrs to get this state in order and havent even come close to other states with less open land
why is that ,,,,,,,,,,thats because in 10 yrs i think they spend to much time on the pipe or the booze to really do a damn thing
+ where your askin for help in NY is like a 4hr drive from anyone on the western part of ny
and that makes Rew P.A (majestic trails )makes much more sense --2hrs away

but on a different note i did sign your petition,,just like all the other ones for the last 10 yrs
i'll give money when i can go riding in ny on non private land

but i guess its a good thing My dad has connections to 300 acres in naples &conesus and along the way i have made a few friends of my own with there own land
so all in all I think i have more land to ride on than
the people running NYTRO and NYSORVA
but good luck to you and Im sure theres tons of new yorkers who will sign the petition but i dont think they will be forking over any cash anytime soon

oh and dont leave a reply saying its people like you ,,because its people like me that have kept it alive and well ever since i was 13
so
i wanna save ya the hassle of me tellin you to F off
but good luck with your venture Im sur with any help from them organizations you will either not be able to open or be shut down in a yr

First, let me say again, there is NO connection between NYSORVA or NYTRO and RPM'S. There is NO crossover of personnel or funds or control, etc. I have just been trying to get the word out for them, and we are supporters of them.
Your post sounds like you think the State runs these organizations. Just to be clear, these organizations are NOT run by the State of NY.
Right now, I drive 5 hours to ride in PA. I do it because I want to ride without the hassle. I have traveled as far away as Utah to ride. Haven't been to Hatfield yet, but plan to go. A lot of riders like to visit different places during the year, rather than riding at the same place all the time.
I'm sorry that we will be too far for you to visit us. You are right, there are a lot of NYers that have said they will ride there. Also a lot of people from PA, CT, MA, VT, NH, NJ and even MD. If you change your mind, you are more than welcome to visit (once we are open of course).
Thank you for signing our petition. Every signature we get is one more step towards approval for our venture.
