I started with 20" and there were times that I would high center the swing arm on some tree shoots.
I now run 22" and I love them. I went down one tooth on the front gear and down one on the rear and have plenty of power to pull any hill I want.

Sorry Jayna but I am going to disagree with you.

Yes, Gearing is HUGE, but you also built your 450 out to a 480, so you have the extra power. I suppose the 450r might have lower clearance than my LTR, but I dunno. I haven't found too much trouble climbing over things or bombing through ruts in the dunes on my 20's and I like maintaining my lower center of gravity with the 20's as well.
Just like anything else, we all have different stuff that works. Just my two cents.

You would go up a tooth in the rear or more for more power or torque!!!

Oh heck, just drop a small block Cheby in the thing and put some tractor tires on it. Then air them up real tight so you can dig down to the solid stuff for traction. 8>)
Wish I was going to Maltby for the breakfast. Guess I'll just have to go into town and have breakfast with the other old farmers.
Poor old Corgi dog ripped a toenail loose last night. Too the Vet this AM and $131.00 later he has one less toenail on his left front paw. He's also about half loopy from the drugs.
Rained last night and put an end to the combining for a couple of days, more hot weather on the way so things should get better.
Treat yourself to a super nice evening.
