Holy ST!!!!!

I can't believe this! What was all the barbed wire about, was it just demarcating someone's property or setup to harm ATV'rs (like spikey)? $250 is a little steep, let alone the fact your should have been given a commendation (not a citation) for helping those others guys out like a good samaritan.

How bad were your injuries? Hope your tetanus is up to date as well.

At least you had a nice weekend in maine

spikey is out to injure riders on purpose- this barbed wire is probably 70 years old, when those woods used to be fields- at first I thought someone had done this to hurt the riders, but then I noticed the barbed wire was actually in the middle of the trees- like the trees swallowed the wire as they grew- so its been there for a long time. There's barbed wire all over these woods from the old time farms- gotta be real careful...

the worst part is- I have a sun burn on top of that so- it hurts even more

Hey guys,

OK so im trying to get some info pretty fast as you will see. So we had a tragic death in the family ( bicycle vs train ) and its been a very rough weekend. So come to find out the funeral is going to be in Buffalo NY this coming Saturday which I believe is about a 5 to 6 hour drive.

I told my fiance that lets try and make a very sad thing into something fun and trailer the atvs out to somewhere fun and take an extra day off of work and go riding. Heres the situation and we need to try and get this done fast.

We will be driving from SE Ct. Shoreline to Buffalo NY which I believe is not far from Canada. Our quads are not registered in Mass yet and dont think we can get them done by this Saturday so I guess we would be looking at private land or somewhere in NY. We would be riding on a sunday and be heading back on monday or who knows if theres a big place maybe stay an extra day.

From the little research ive done all I can come up with is this place.

Long Meadows ATV Park - New York Motorcycle and ATV Trails

But I really cant find much info about it at all. Dont forget we are not locked into riding somewhere near buffalo NY thats just our destination. We can get a room somewhere or anywhere in between our route from Ct. to NY and being that its a 6 hour drive there must be some place decent to spend a day or two.

The town we are leaving from is Old Saybrook Ct. to Buffalo NY if anyone would like to see it on a map. Any help would be great as we still have a lot of plans to help out with for the funeral and getting a hold of relatives and friends of person who passed which was my fiances uncle who was only 44 yo.

Can you give me anymore details about riding there? Like where to park and what kind of trails are there and such. Have you ever heard of the link I sent you of the ATV park?

Everything you need to know about riding in Pittsfield can be found on the MA DCR website.

Pittsfield State Forest

I would really recommend avoiding MA, just because I hate to see anyone encourage those hacks by sending them registration monies. But if you are heading that way, this is a better place to ride than Pittsfield:

October Mountain State Forest
