I thought hunting season ended sunday?? I'm anxious to check out riding at ONF , now that my gps finally got here. I hear you can get lost easily out there.

 

Hunting season in Ocala closed Sunday January 5th.

Our group is called The Trailblazers and Hellraisers - we own land in river ranch
and half of the year it is wet, flooded and muddy - the other 1/2 is dry, open and ready for fast, long wide open rides - Our land is accessable by auto, we usually camp for the weekend, ride day and night - it's 10,000 acres with access to another 100,000 acres surrounding it - you gotta know an owner to enter & ride the area, and now you know an owner.
The other riding we do is near Fort Myers - close to you, Im guessing -
23,000 acres of wide open trails - personally, it's my fav. ride spot in all of Florida.

Our group rides at least twice a month, and we do the above mentioned overnights every couple of months - type me back and let me know if you want to "get in the loop"

 

Hey Ronin, we travel in the same circles!! I ride ONF almost every weekend. I've dove Looe Key and Florida Bay wrecks for the last 13 years! Great ONF pics. Where were you when you took the quad pics? Looks like the Scrub area to me, serveral miles from the campground for sure. I hear ya about the hunters at Scrub. We were there Sunday 1/5 and they were packing up and leaving, it was a zoo out there with all the hunters gathering their dogs!Glad they are gone.

 

On January 18th our club, Muddy Waters ATV Assoc. will be holding a club ride near Big Scrub. We are having a poker run in the morning starting at 10 o'clock. Check in is at 9-9:30. All are welcome... come see if you are interested in joining our club. I believe we are going to have raffle tickets available also. After the run and lunch we will be splitting into groups to go trail riding or mudding or wherever your group would like to go!

You guessed right, I was in Big Scrub by the 597 forest road. We are planning a trip back this Saturday now that the hunting season is over. If you are going out this weekend let me know and I will keep an eye out.

 

If you are going to Ocala N.F better take your GPS with you.

Hi Guys
cant wait to move to FLA .i need to get out on unfriendly state of NJ . NJ hates ATV riders. Well in few years will be down there with my 60 ft charter boat and Quads.
Me and my wife were thinking instead of vacation in the caribean .We were thinking of but both our quads on trailer and going down to FLA to ride. What are reqirements in state of FAL ,Reg ,Ins Etc .

i don t mean to sound like an a--, however, fl. sucks for atv s. i live in s. fl., and besides big cyp., there is really no legal place to ride. big cyp. is no longer child friendly, you cannot transport your child as a passenger, no matter how safe you are. the everglades is boring unless you enjoy riding in high sawgrass. my grizzly overheated twice because it got no air. in other parts of the everglades, the riding looks cool, but............of course, atv s are not allowed in these areas. why would trucks and tracked vehicles be allowed to access these areas, i.e korbet area, but not atv s. totally stupid, so unless you want to travel north for hours, don t bother owning an atv down here. by the way , anybody want to buy a 2002 grizzly or 2000 kodiak, with a trailer for both.
