So you are familar with the North Star Inn at the top of the hill next to the ferry?

 

We never stayed overnight in Port aux Basque, we always grab the ferry so we bike the first day starting at 6am. On the way home we grab night ferry.

 

How long does the Ferry take? Are Dual-Sport motorcyles allowed on the rail bed?

 

The ferry is 16 hours Argentia to North Sydney, but only 5 hours to Port aux Basques. You book so you sleep on the ferry ie if you grab the short ferry at 11PM then you arrive at 6AM. the long one you grab at 3 in the afternoon and you are of at 6AM. Moto cross is allow however the rail way is not ideal on a motocross-dual sport because of the rock on the bed is very thick in spots.
