Street Legal Quads?

Your link is screwed up a little, try this http://www.state.in.us/dnr/outdoor/ohv/roads.htm
I cant find anything about south carolina, though I am still searching. Thanks for the info though, I never would have thought to check with the DNR.
As for the rims, I found out that a basic Honda(or just about any import style) rim will work. I got my stock tires and wheels from my nissan im going to try to put on later today or earlier tomorrow.

Ok scratch the nissan wheels. They are just a little too small. I may just grind the holes out a little bigger. But I would like to find a rim that fit without modification....oh well

Its not easy but it can be done. Just got back from Bike week with my Street Legal Banshee. Can be run in 3 or 4 wheel configuration. Street Legal...and I live in NY. But I got to say....it was a LOT of work and a lot of money....over $10,000 in mods, travel costs, shipping, and certifications to get it done...(thats not including the cost of the bike)......but it was my dream, so I Love it.

Hi I'm street legal in Gods country Arizona. But wonder how they could stop me in another state from riding on the roads. I have a title plates and insurance be interesting if they could stop me. To me it would be like a state saying no Fords allowed Wouldn't it?? If not why????? Chuck (Cottonwood,AZ.)

A couple years ago I put Street tire directly on my front rim, for road race, these tire are street legal and was originally made for "Innocenti" car, I think it's 12 inch but I don't remember who made it.... *** My Banshee set-up for road racing ***

I live in Idaho(im not morman) and they allow for you to register your quad and make it street legal. All you need is lights and brakelights(comes stock so you really don't have to fork out to much cash). I dont think that will help you any but I thought I would tell you for the heck of it. I've ridden it to Utah and since it was registered with liscence and stuff they could'nt do anything to me, but tell me how dumb it was to waste money on something like that. Peace

In Ohio .... (I am a Mormon )
State Highways...:
You are allowed to ride on the berm of state roads .... if you have the quad regestered with the State, and have insurance.
Township/County roads:
The local authority has the right to determine if quads are allowed on Township or County roads. My good fortune
is that I live in a Township that does not restrict quads on their roads !

Well, it seems this thread just wont stay down. Oh well, maybe the companies will take notice and finally do something...well probly not, but we can dream cant we? I just saw in...I think it was Atv Action and Four Wheeler where there were more people askin about street legals in this months issues than there were the past year total. They had a good many articles about them. Its worth lookin at....I cant remember what they said, my dad has the mags in his truck. Its nice to see there are other people interested in this subject.

I was told once a vehicle was titled for onroad use by a state it cant be turned down elsewhere. So another words AZ peeps could turn around and sell street legal quads to the rest of us! As long as it passes saftey inspection! In NH I dont know if you would need a windshield and 2 forward facing front lights? Since it has 4wheels I think it is considered a car here. So seatbelts and all. We live in the state where you can street a CR/KX/RM/YZ whatever in about 1hour paperwork. And quick inspection.
