Preach 800twin....preach!!...lol

Pastor....you change quads more often than I change my socks....lol....I tried to impart a little wisdom before you bought your first King...I said pastor...Polaris is the way out!! ...and I think it was one of our first rides my Poo about had to pull the king out....

Then it was the vinson....and I said dont buy into all the hype...."Polaris is the way out"....and I think on our first ride my Poo was pullin the vinson "out" of the mud....

then it was the big King....the atv rags #1 pick.....but you seemed to avoid riding with me when my poo grew from a 500 into a 800...

I can realy appreciate brand loyalty....Im all about it....but dont let ol Jay D Coy pull you to the dark side...hes always looking for greener pastures also.....
But Ive been preachin the gospel according to polaris for alot of years now and though Ive not had many converts....Ive seen no backsliders...once they have experianced the truth they never turn back....ya know what Im sayin...

No, not exactly. When are you kids going to realize it's more about the 'ride' than anything else? *ducks for cover*

Went on a ride last sunday with 10 quads.......only 3 popo's in the group....all 3 broke down.
And I recall a little 329cc Honda pulling a mighty 800 po out with a strap.

Whoa Ragged...cool your jets friend..I have NEVER regreted getting the Vinson...still the best sport/utility 500 out there IMO. Trust me, that is one machine I will be holding on to. The King Quad is a great machine. The problem, I believe, was in manufacturer research and development. There are just too many bugs in this machine. Once they get the bugs worked out it will no doubt be one of the best. However, I don't feel like waiting. I have been to the shop 4 times this winter with problems. I am taking a very close look at the Outlander. The only thing keeping from making a move right now is price. I just can't justify slapping down "another" 4,000.00 on top of what I get out of the King.

It sure is fun ....all this arm chair jousting....

Winter will be over in another month or so and I'll be able to get out and ride the quad....till then I'll just sit here and talk smack I guess...lol

Zac...sure the ride and the view and getting out in the mountain fresh air is awsome....but its even awsomer when you go some where your buddies bike cant take him....( is awsomer a word??)

Attention all fellow atvers!!

Viper and I met Rod from the F.A.A. yesterday on top of Mica. Rod drives a new charcoal color'd Dodge truck, and is the guy who plows and grades the road to the top where the radar towers are. Rod was extremely angry when we first met him and for a minute there I thought he was going to get out and start swinging. You see Rod thought we were doing doughnuts in the road and he is on the verge of closing the road. Viper and I had not been doing any doughnuts, but Rod wasn't in the listening mood at first. We were able to agree with him on how bad it would be to continuously grade a road only to have people do doughnuts in it and make it rough again, and so Rod slowly calmed down. We told him that we would alert all our fellow riders to not tear up his road, and to tell anyone else we saw up there to not tear up his road. Rod was very appreciative of our attitude and turned out to be a pretty nice guy. If you see him up there, please stop and tell him you got the message and that we here are doing our part to help him. It would suck if that main road got closed.

I noticed that every time I hit the gas,,,,it slings stuff like there's no tomorrow. 800cc's is cool

By the way, a couple guys I know that have the polaris 800 say that there is a chain in the tranny that stretches, and then starts eating into the case. There is no tensioner on the chain to stop it, so it just eats into the case. Washburn is the name of one of the guys. He came on that big ride we all went on last fall. He had to leave early because his belt started slipping. Anyway, has anyone heard of this tranny problem?

Dadgum, I seem to remember that too. hummm wasn't there a vinson there? I think when he seen the KQ go up there he figured could too. hmmm.
3200 miles, reliablity has not been an issue.

Heh...yeah I know some people who say the reason you get such a long warranty with the Outlander is because the company is still new and those bikes break down a lot. Any machine is only going to hold up as good as it is cared for. Lots of people say lots of things. We just pick what we want to hear.

The logical thing to do is outline what is important on the machine, and then research and determine who makes that the best. Which is usually a company who has experience and has spent some time in R&D. And even that is not fool proof. The King Quad a perfect example. These are good machines. And a obvious logical choice for a purchase. However, even good machines might have one or two with a defect.

People suffer way too much from blind brand loyalty, mostly based upon their own financial investments. Myself obviously I like Polaris. Polaris or Yamaha.

Please don't shoot, I'm waving my white flag!!!

Just a short interruption here, but I just wanted to say that in the new summer edition of "ATV MAGAZINE", there's a good article about riding Rathdrurm Mountain. I tried to find it on the internet to post a link, but didn't suceed, sorry. Guess you'll have to go to the super market with the ol' lady and lurk around the magazine rack for a few minutes.

You may now resume the battle.......
