You need to break it in right. The way I did mine was like this.

One mile showing on the odometer. Unload from truck and let warm up. Guy with Polaris 800 next to me punches his and takes off, sooo, I opened the Bomb up and went around him so bad he couldn't hardly believe his eyes[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img] That is how you break one in. Seriously though, I didn't hold it wide open again till I had a good 50 miles or so on it I swear.

 

JayDeeCoy..I was told by the dealer to "ride it like crazy" during the break in period. in fact, they said don't even worry about changing oil until you have 2-300 miles on it. Naturally, I was shocked as I had never treated my other machines like that. At any rate, rode it today about 10 miles...incredible power. Nothing that I can really compre this bike to...it's that good. I will be ordering my skid plates next week. Someone reccomended that I go with riccochet...ever heard of them? Time to get out...and enjoy God's creation.

is it just my slow dial up or does it take a stupid long time to pull the page up with all those banner adds....somone needs to let Admin. know we dont all have high speed and would just as easy on even visit the site as to wait so long for a bunch of adds...I dont care if they are for Polaris....

From what I hear, the ricochet are better than the bombardier skids.
I wouldn't listen about the not changing oil thing. I had mine changed, and the valve lash set when I had about 100 miles.

 

Now that my blood pressure is down a bit, let me tell you what happened to me after yesterday's ride.

I went to the Albertsons on Northwest blvd and Maple, and picked up some steaks to barbeque. I parked way out in the parking lot near the gas station. When I came out of the store, I see a guy standing in the back of my truck trying to remove my helmet. I didn't recognize that he was in MY truck until I saw the helmet in his hand. He jumps down real quick and I start running towards my truck. When I get to the other side of my truck, he is pulling out real fast onto N.W. blvd. I run back to my truck and fire it up. I am pissed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I could see over the other cars in the lot, and he was stopped at the light so I back out, come around the line of cars in the lot, and I head right at him full throttle. I intended to run right over the top of his little roach of a car with him in it. Damn the torpedoes, FULL SPEED AHEAD!!!!!!! He must have finally seen me coming because he backed into the car behind him, and I think he scraped past the car in front of him and he blasted through the light. Just then the light turned green and so when I exited the parking lot at high speed, I got right through the light. I got up to just under EDITED mph going East on N.W. blvd still intent on ramming this guy into oblivion. I had to pass cars using the turn lane. Did I mention I was pissed? When we got to that funky curve thing by Monroe, this guy made a right back into the neighborhoods and started going one or two blocks, turn, one or two blocks, turn, all the while with a 7000 pound deisel hot after him. If I didn't have my quad in the back, this guy would have gotten crushed. Not too many vehicles on the road can outrun that Duramax, It hauls. Finally my racks flew out of the back of my truck, and so I had to stop. I got out and noticed that my rear tires were smoking badly and looked close to combustion. Game over,,maybe.

This morning I will be talking with Rob the security guy at Albertsons. They have lots of cameras in that lot, as does the gas station. Maybe we can get a plate number off the little roach car and take a ride over to his house with the sheriff.

Well,,I talked with Rob the security guy, and although my truck was parked off camera, we were able to see the Saab pull in. My reciept says the time is 18:23 when they rang up my steaks, and the saab pulls into the parking lot right then. This guy was only there maybe a minute to 1.5 minutes totall. Rob is trying to clean up the image of the saab so we can get a plate number. If I can get that, I can most likely get an address. Not sure if I'd rather retrieve my helmet, or just burn the saab in front of the guy's house. I can tell you which one sounds like more fun[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

Jay.. You should have dropped the bomb and chaced him down on that. He would have had to have a "drawer change handy"..

Thieving bastard scum... Cruise the streets, chances are he lives nearby.. Sorry to hear you lost the noggin protector. Better than loosing the bomb.. Man that sucks...

Check over at Safeway also.. They have cameras in their gas station.
