If I'm not mistaken, if your quads are registered in another state, you need to get an out of state sticker for your quad. The steel licence plates do not go inconjuction with the stickers. I'm not sure what the $$ is for the stickers though. Probably 10 or 15.
All the states here in the west honor the other states off road stickers.
So no out of state sticker is needed. (Washington doesnt even offer one)

Hey Viper,
That may have been me getting chewed out at LL on Sunday. We went up there till around noon on the 16th & rode around for a while. At one point we ride down the trail & came out on the road & rode down to the parking lot. We were hardly tearin that road up, but cruising down about 20 mph. I was in front & at some point a Cadillac came bombin down the hill behind us. We get down to the lot & this guy jumps out of the car & starts readin me the riot act saying that we're not supposed to be on that road at all. I asked him to show me where it says that & he pointed out two signs. One says "no ATVs on public roads" and the other says "ATVs not allowed across Idaho state line, 1.5 miles away". Well, it seems like there is a lot of room for confusion on the interpretation on those signs. He said that road is a private road & paid for by the home owners, but it doesn't say anything like that anywhere. I asked a couple of the other riders in the area & one guy said we're not supposed to be on the roads & another guy said he had no idea. So who knows.
Later I called the sheriff to ask the same question but have yet to get any answers out of them.
So I'm staying off that road till I find out otherwise.

Strange experience yesterday. I was riding out west of town in my coyote hunting area, when I noticed a guy walking along the edge of one of the plateaus out there. This is WAY out in the middle of nothing, so seeing him walking was a bit strange. Then, I got a mile or so from there, and I see a guy laying face down on a grass hill about 400 yards away. I stopped my quad and waved at him, he didn't move, I waved again, he didn't move. The first thing I thought was that maybe he was dead, so I unslung my rifle from off my back and took a look at him through the 20 power scope. (Not something you should do by the way, but I thought he was dead) I could tell he was not dead and so I quickly put down the rifle, but he still kept laying there face down miles from nowhere. I rode on and made a couple stands calling coyotes, but could not get any to answer back, and so I headed back toward the guy laying out there. I rode up to within about 60 yards and stopped and shut off the bike. I said "are you alright", and he did not move. I was starting to suspect foul play and so I started up my Bomber and proceeded towards him with caution. Just before I got to the mound he was laying on, I rounded another mound and darned if there wasn't another guy laying down behind that one. He looked scared. I can't imagine why, just because a guy covered from head to toe in cammo with a high powered rifle mounted on the front rack, another slung across his back, and a 40 Smith & Wesson semi auto pistol openly displayed on his belt rides up,,,no need to look scared. I stopped about 30 feet from him and asked him, "are you guys alright"? He said yes and said they were doing "an exercise". I thought maybe I had just ridden up on some sort of brokeback mountain kinda thing, and so I said OK and left.
I have been hunting out there for 19 years and this is the first time I have seen hikers out there. On the way back to my truck, I rounded a corner and found three more of them. Back pack wearing granola munchin twenty something hikers all out laying on the ground in the middle of nowhere. I shoulda stopped and told them about all the rattle snakes I have killed out there They looked just as startled and scared of the overly armed guy, and so I just waved and kept on going.

Air..

When Jay and I were up getting chewed out it was at Mica not Liberty Lake (LL i assume was liberty lake) Mica is south of Spokane past Freeman, left on elder road then 10 miles past that.
As far as you being on those roads, if i am following you correct you must have come out on the north side and rode the roads down to the orv park? I know if you follow the trails into the orv park and you go north east there is a side road that will dump you out onto the main road. I dont think you are suppose to be on that road.
When ever i go to the ORV at liberty lake I always come in and go out thru the ORV entrance.

Thanks for the welcome guys! I guess my eyes werent working that well last night, many of my questions had been answered before I asked them. The gal at DOL said yeah go ahead and register it in WA as ORV then go to Post Falls and get ID to do the license plate because she doesnt have the plates there. This ride on Sunday sounds like alot of fun but I'm not clear on whether or not I'll need thePaper Company permit to participate. Is the ride on their land? If so, maybe my wife can pick me up one @ Whites tommorrow (I have to work all day) Also, how closely do they check for the insurance? I called and added the King to my policy, but couldnt get in to pick up documentation before they closed. of course they're closed tommorrow. Lastly, any of you Northside guys who are going have an extra spot on a trailer? I can load it into my truck, but it sounds like the parking area is going to be pretty full. I live near Mead H.S.

Turtletrax; I asked if they were military, but they said no. They looked more like college students and from the looks on their faces, they were not used to seeing armed people.

You only need an Inland Paper Co permit to ride their land. (Rathdrum area, Mica area) The Bunco ride is on National Forest.

Jay- that's funny!! LMAO

RockmanAtv- thanks I'm not really sure who owns what land out here, being a transplanted Virginian. Maybe I'll see ya at the run on Sunday. Red King, grey Dodge Ram. Gotta go to work!
