Kori……..
Sorry I didn’t get to see your posting about meeting with us down at Bruneau. I hope you didn’t try to find us, all the spots were full there Friday afternoon, so we ended up staying at a campground down on C.J. Strike Reservoir.
I kinda feel sorry for all you guys digging outta snow banks and fighting the mud, but we were also pretty busy avoiding rattlesnakes, chasing down jack rabbits, getting stuck in sand drifts and trying to keep enough fluids in our bodies to avoid dehydration!!!
I was seeing red last night when our son pointed out what we missed in the paper, but I was expecting something similar soon anyways, they always start ragging on us ATVer's in the Spring, I just figgered Rich Landers would be behind it, now I guess the Spokesman Review has added another “greenie” to it’s editorial staff, all the more reason to join a club so our numbers are felt.

Wiz- Great pictures. I know remember what was cool about living down there. But i still prefer the trees!!!
Anyway-i never did make it down there as my neice ended up in the hospital thrusday night so i spent friday taking care of my nephew. She is now out of the hospital so thats good. She ended up with a bacteria infection in her blood. Guess we were close to loosing her but she is now home!!
Looking forward to getting out and doing some riding. Heard there is talk of a ride from fernan saddle over to the cascade lodge on sunday 23rd. Meeting at the parking area around 915 leaving by 10 with some door prizes.

Hi all. This is my first post. Purchased a couple of ATVs a few months back and I am looking forward to getting in some good rides this spring. I have a 06 Polaris 800 Twin EFI (yeah Ragged...that's right buddy) and a 06 Polaris 450 Sportsman. A few years back I had a Yamaha Kodiak and another Polaris. Most of my riding has been done back on the paper companies land, which I love. But I have not been in like four years and frankly, was largely inspired in part to pick up the sport again by this forum among other things. So wanted to say hello to all. And also voice my opinion on the idiot from the Spokesman.
Now I'll admit, I'm somewhat of a greenie...a tree hugger (don't kill me). But...only in that I love nature. I love the outdoors and all the creatures in it. But, that doesn't mean I'm without common sense. And I think this is exactly what this guy is lacking. This guy is a hunter. And I know there is a great chance many of you are also. I won't lie to you and tell you I would ever go hunting. It's just not for me. I don't get into that sort of thing. However, I'm not about to tell anybody what they should or should not do. However, I find it ironic that a man who goes out and shoots animals for sport then talks about how riding ATVs in the woods is destructive to the animals habitat. I think shooting those animals and killing them is far more destructive
The fact of the matter is this man thinks people should only be able to utilize land as he does and he feels is fit. And that my friends, is just wrong. We all enjoy this area in our own way. Some are bike nerds. Some are ATV nuts. Some just like to hike. Others hunt....fish. Whatever. The land should be enjoyed by all of us. Regardless of if we agree with how the others enjoy it. And no special interest group should control this. It belongs to the people of the state and as people of the state we should all get to use it. If this guy wants to do something productive, he should be writing about how states are selling off the land to private interests. As people of the state, why is it we have no say in these matters?
Ragged I'm counting on the fact that I own TWO Polaris ATVs to give me points so that you won't sneak up and stab me because I am a greenie
You guys have a great weekend! Hope at least one of you gets a good ride in!

In all seriousness, I have never found a ATV I didn't like. Only ones that required some getting used to. I did have a good old Suzuki Quadmaster 500 before I got the new bikes...and it was a good little machine. The shifter took some getting used to...but it was good for work and play. Matter of fact, I almost bought another Suzuki, but couldn't find the one I wanted.
They say rain late this morning however it looks pretty nice out right now. Maybe I better take advantage of it.
