Sorry to hear about your problem with the dealer Scramblher, I have had some issues with the Suzuki shop in Post Falls also, and will probably take mine to the Pinehurst dealer if I need any real service in the future. I will say that the service I have received from the Yamaha dealer in Post Falls has been outstanding! I had some problems with my clutch on my sled this year and when I took it in to have them look at it they got their special tool out and removed the clutch for me and diagnosed the problem, told me what I needed and didn't charge me a dime. Needless to say I was shocked, and will be bringing all of my work that they can do to them in the future.
Re bashing, making statements about how good your quad has held up or how pleased you are with it probably won't draw much fire. Making statements like "if I rode any other brand it would have fallin appart under nieth me" most likely will. I'm sure you can see the difference. Personally I would never buy a new quad without going out and riding everything available to me first, and researching all the different specs on all the brands before I put down several thousand dollars on one. That's what I did with my Vinson and I have never regreted it once. Call me silly, but I don't think brand loyalty is a good way to make those kinds of choices. I prefer to have all the facts. Apparently opinions different here.

Pastor, I think that the dealerships are the key to all this. Why don't they pay for a one year membership to the local ATV club whenever a person buys a new quad, or even spends X number of dollars on equipment? The dealerships have a lot to either lose or gain by ATV's being banned or not banned in the forests, and yet they don't even spend the extra $20 to see that the new owner knows about the local clubs. Have you ever seen advertising on the walls of a dealership encouraging ATV owners to join a club and stand up for their rights? Neither have I.
This dealer has provided great sponsorship of the local clubs, including: Buying many many memberships at their own expense, Organizing rides to raise funds and awareness for the clubs, Including the local clubs names in the majority of their print ads, and in fact do ask new purchaseres to join local clubs and offer incentives to do so, not only spent their own money and time on the clubs but have donated thousands of dollars worth of merchandise to promote club membership. They have also come forward with grant programs for the clubs to apply for with its manufacture.
And the name of this local dealership???? Coeur d'Alene Polaris.
Pinehurst Performance is not to far behind either and have been a stanch supporter.

I like all the "my brand is the best, biggest, fastest, ect, ect" talk.
Because in the end they all get towed at one time or another by the "Mighty Rancher"

And not only do the folks @ CDA Polaris do great things for the sport, they do provide excellent service. I stand behind those guys 100%. They have done great for me. How many other dealers have all the competitors quads sitting right there for you to try? That is pretty darn gutsy. That isn't to say a person won't like brand X better, and more power to them if they do. These things are spendy and a person should buy what they please. But you gotta hand it to them. Not many people are willing to do that. Even if you don't like Polaris. That is pretty commendable. Matter of fact, show me one other shop that does.
Kodiak660 that is funny regarding the rancher because it is most likely the darn truth! Recall a few weeks back a couple helping a buddy out with their ranchers. Now mind you, I could have pulled him out. I wasn't stuck! Don't you bashers get started on your weight thing again! LOL
I really wasn't. But these folks didn't care. They just wanted to be helpful. Guy and his wife I believe. Real nice people. If your out there, whomever you were, and happening to be reading this, it was @ Bunko about a month ago. And we really did appreciate the help.
You know what would be nice for the ATV Association? That is if it doesn't exist already...is the ability to just make donations. Like via a paypal account or something. I don't really have the time to attend meetings, but feel it's certainly a cause I would like to make some sort of contribution to from time to time. Is there something like this on the site and I am just missing it?

The way I see it if you ride anything other than a Polaris your just riding something less than the best....
Some of you guys are pretty easy...lol.....If guys like Kodiac and Jay and Pastor and Viper and 800 twin all thought everyone elses bike was just as good or better bike than theres this would be a pretty boaring thread....lol....its all fun and games....till somone gets an eye poked out....(by my 800 HO EFI throughin rocks all over them while I pull them up the hill backwards.)...lol
I think all dealers have there issues...some just dont go the extra mile to make ya feel good about giving them your bussness...and that has been a struggle for All Sports service dept but it has improved 10 fold since the new service mgr took over...
I try to do my own work or find a buddy thats done it to help me out....but I do REALY like the guys at CDL Polaris...anytime you say late on a friday for a customer to show up with his bike to show him how to make a linkage adjustment ...and dont even charge him a nickle ..THATS customer service...it didnt cost him anything but time...and it was time well spent cuz it will keep me on a Polaris..
did I mention thats the only issue Ive had with my poos in 4 years...(things that I didnt break myself from abuse)
BTW........For all you cats that like extreme sports vidios we just finished our 3rd one with a 4th coming out this August...here is a link to the thread in Snowest ...it has alot of Snowmobiling Motor cycles Wake Boarding and Skiing....all to high energy Christian Rock......I even have a little cameo apperiance under the section of athletes witness....In the sledding section there were about 6 of us 3 from here in north Idaho and 3 from back east...We even gotta guy doing a back flip on a sled!! and Timmy was able to film a new WORLD RECORD cliff drop on skis...255 ft !!!!!! this guy had to have been prayed up when he went off because the way he landed should have killed him....
Link to Snowest thread
Link to Nitro Life Films
all the money raised is going to support a group from Timmys church that takes 1-2 mission trips a year ...so check it out...last years and this year DVDs for only $20 ...you cant buy one around here fro 20 bucks...

Ragged - Very cool, we just might have to get a couple of those. And what a great cause. I'm looking forward to the August release party.
800twin- North Idaho ATV assoc does not have anything like that set up through the website, but that's a great idea. I'll run it by the Board and see what they think. Of course you can always use the ol snail mail. We'll gladly except any donations.

One of the things I hate about internet chat is that you can't tell if a guy is really angry or not and so sometimes it sounds like we're all grumpy. Seriously though, it is kind of fun to poke back and forth, so long as we all get along in real life on rides and such. I think that we do, and I have had fun on every ride I have gone on with folks from this forum. Speaking of that, Hey Ragged, what ever happened to Great White Poacher. I know he sold his quad, but I happen to have a spare if he ever wants to go along with us.
I gotta say, Polaris has come a long way since the 1993 and 1995 models I owned. I had every intention of buying a Sportsman 800, they are that good. So far I am glad I bought the Bomb, but time will tell. I'm just glad there is always a Honda or two around to tow us all home. The last ride we went on though, there was a Honda getting towed, but since the guy spent $500 on it and it was an antique with umteen bajillion miles on it, and since the little Honda resurrected itself anyway, Honda is still tops in my book. Being the fastest is great; Towing the most is great too, but knowing for near certainty that you will not be getting towed home is priceless.

How come if both dealerships are owned by the same people that one is an advocate and the other a rip off? Is it the volume or people working there?Hmmm Rockman very interesting....... All I know is it is going to take me 2 paychecks to get my bike back because I am not going to put it on plastic and when I said I'd have to pay it off in payments he says to me in a snotty tone....." We don't care, we have your bike" and they do..........By the way Jay I bought a manual off e-bay for 15 bucks and will never have this problem again. Thanks for the advice.......See you at work.

Well Nancy, they don't have mine, and based on your experience, they never will. If it's any consolation, you helped me make a very expensive decision. Allsport will not be getting any of my business. If we all learn a lesson from your experience, yours will be the toughest $600 that Allsport ever made!
