Hey guys I got a question about street legal ATV's here in N. Idaho.
We met this guy out at the Fernan Saddle a couple weeks ago (nice fella, gave us some gas, maybe some of you know him, he rode a Camo BF 750 and his wife had a red Kodiak 450 I believe.) and he told me that all I needed to ride my quad on the street was it had to have mirrors, a horn, and it had to be registered. My quad has mirrors, is registered, and I have the horn kit I just haven't put it on yet. I'm really eager to know if this is true or not, as it'll be a blast to ride my quad to school once I get my lisence. So what do you guys know about street legal ATV's here in N. Idaho?
Thanks.

How soon you forget........I had to tow your big bad 800 Poo Poo out of a hole you dug in the easy part of the trail. The trail you couldnt follow me on.
And your buddy with the other 800 left early due to a slipping belt on his brand new 800 Poo Poo.
So where is the crap my friend?

Ragged - Bunco much more scenic, get views of Pend Oreille. But its mostly road some 2 track can be found.
Fernan not as scenic but still nice. Trail 28 great 2 track quad trail, loads of fun.

Benchmark quads?
Suzuki first quad
Honda first 4x4
Polaris Sportsman first utility for the masses
Kawasaki Prairie first big bore
Whats the next? Hard to say, EFI is the best thing to happen lately. Time will tell if there will be any more truly benchmark or stand out quads.
There are lots of great ideas coming out of the manufactures. The more ideas, competition, and options in the market, the better for us.
Who's to say which is better, faster, stronger, lighter, etc... Just give me a group of friends, a quad to ride, and I'm happy!
At the end of the day, the memories are of the great ride, the trail, the views, and the people you enjoyed the experience with. I don't much care who was riding what, but more like, did you see the moose? or that hill was crazy, or I just about dumped it on that one.
I put a lot of miles on. I've had the opportunity to ride most quads out there. And I ride with lots and lots of other people. I have learned a few things over the years....
Polaris, ain't no good in the snow period. But will still run with water over the tank! Amazing.
Honda's great in the snow, but wont run with water up to the fenders.
Kawasaki. You can't beat a Prairie on the tight and twisty, but a BF you can.
Yamaha, Narrow chassis, but pretty much bulletproof. Very reliable. Yamaha mechanics are like the Maytag man.
Bombardier. Don't like big air or deep water.
Suzuki? Well better in the snow than Polaris, deeper in the water than Honda, faster on the tight and twisty than a BF, reliable like a Yamaha, and big air is not a problem. Well I guess I'm guilty of brand loyalty too. Dang it, Lets Ride!!!
