I have been very happy with mine so far too GWP (06 Polaris 800 Twin EFI). Very happy indeed. I do wish it sat just a inch or so lower. But I think the power is just freaking great.
Speaking of french fries and Bombs....
Their approach to the X2 is rather interesting. I sorta like it. It's not a true X2, but in a way it's almost a advantage. Pretty much just a rear seat that comes on and off. It doesn't look as though their are any modifications to the chassis. Which I think would make a somewhat uncomfortable ride for the passenger, but when compared to the Polaris X2...well...on those they did modify the chassis. Those things are mighty long. When going over some hills it could be restrictive.
One of my neighbors has a Bomb. It has some sort of strange cover that goes over it that makes it look as though your inside a vehicle. Most strange indeed. I call him the boy in the bomb bubble. Thats sorta what it's like. Oooo. Perhaps I could race the boy in the bomb bubble LOL. Oh that would be fun. Perhaps he needs the bubble since he has mad bomb disease.

GWP; I'll be sleeping Tuesday. I work Monday night and Tuesday Night 12 hour shifts. You'll have to ride his scrambler, if it still runs that is
800twin; The Bombardier two person quads are longer, that way the passenger is still in front of the rear axle.

To bad Jay won't be able to come out and play . . . I really would like to pull him out of a mud hole or something with my brothers 700 Poo. I was able to call my brother and I am borrowing his 700, it will fit me just fine and feel like home again.
As far as any X2 quad, my opinion is that no matter how they make them, unless they are a side by side it will always be a hazard and totally unsafe for a second rider. The tip over hazard for any quad is ever present and is amplified on a X2. Extra caution has to be excercised when riding double on these machines. I am sure that having a X2 is better then not having anything at all.
Sooo 800twin . . . are you up for a ride Tuesday day time?? Would love to meet a fellow Poo loyalist!

With the Polarisitis crowd banding together...I thought I would toss this out. Before purchasing the Bomb...I was classicaly a big 5 thinker:
Polaris, Yamaha, Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki...I was a little nervous about purchasing a brand that wasn't in that group. I will tell you this...Bomb is growing so fast...that some industry insiders feel that their innovative products will "sweep" the industry in many classes in '07. In '06, the 800 Bomb sweeps virtually every publication as the clear ATV of the year. Consider this: '07 models... Sport 800EFI, I.R.S....worlds first E.T.V. "extreme terrain vehicle"...you dont believe that this thing is tearing it up...do your own internet search on "Bombardier renegade". Also, a 650 that is a little brother to the 800 Outy. 500 twin, with 25% more horsepower than it's nearest competitor. In fact, Bombardier (now Can-Am), clearly sweeps the entire industry in the most powerful ATV motors (ever), in virtually ALL classes.
You get to a place in life...where all the brand loyalty stuff is nice...then you really start comparing 'apples to apples' and you start THINKING for yourself...it opens greater vistas of opportunuity. Bombardier, guys all across North America are making a mad dash to sell off their "big 5 bikes" to get one of these...still don't believe us? Call a dealer and ask 'em. They are selling faster than they can get 'em.

I'd love to hook up for a ride. But week days generally don't work out for me. I was going to go today actually since it is nice. Was planning on heading up to Fernan. But I'm having some problems with my back today, which means I will have to take some muscle relaxors and those pretty much turn me into a zombie...which frankly rather sucks
Until the past couple of weeks I have been going every weekend. Sunday is generally my riding day. So if you go riding on a Sunday, and are in Idaho, you may wind up bumping into me.

The only "Boo-Boo" is that you are making a very expensive mistake by not checking a Bomb out before purchasing your next Quad. Don't believe us? Start snooping around...there are a "ton" of guys who I have heard make the statement "I bought a Polaris, Honda, Yamaha, etc." but I really wanted a Bomb...I couldn't afford one." I certainly can understand this:...save another 6 months and get one. You'll see why everyone esle is unloading their big 5 machines to get these.

The Bombs have been making gains in market share for a while now. I pretty much consider them mainstream now myself. I recall when they were something I knew nothing about and seeing the crates at a couple of dealers. And then suddenly I was seeing lots of crates at dealers and then suddenly it dried up. Now it seems to be gaining momentum again. And I suspect Pastor is right in that they seem to be doing some pretty good engineering in regards to innovation. However, that will just heat it up more with the others, and frankly whomever has the most funds for R&D will win. More than likely.
However, being on the front side of innovation is not always a good place to be. It can be. Or it can be very expensive. A person gets bragging rights for sure. But they also can get the pain that comes with having the newest and the baddest. A true real high performance machine often needs some serious maintenance. I have known a few professional racers. Not quads...but motorcycles. And they will have the newest and baddest monster out there. Stuff that would just smoke all our quads. They also need to be worked on. A lot. Constant adjustments. That was the penalty for the performance. For some people, that is fine. They actually like that. For me, that would be a pain and I don't want to deal with it. Not saying the Bomb is that way. I forget who it was, but there was a Bomb poster on here with some decent milage. But point being, latest and greatest ain't always the greatest.
One of the reasons I picked Polaris was I wanted a automatic. And frankly, I think when it comes to that automatic, Polaris has been doing it for quite a while. Matter of fact, Polaris was first to market with a automatic ATV. I tried to post a link but this site won't let me.
Polaris has been making automatic ATVs for over 20 years. That means something to me. I think there is something to be said for knowing what you want to use a machine for, finding a choice that works well, and sticking with that regardless of innovation. Matter of fact, sometimes I think this is what the smartest people do. BRP has only been making ATVs since 97. I have tried to post a link but this site won't let me.
Polaris has about 10 years of development ahead of BRP and most likely 10 years of patents in designs that screw up other competitors. Thats what they all do. Typical business. BTW I'm not a BRP basher. I think they are cool machines. But I wanted a automatic. And in my mind, that would be something expensive to fix. That and the engine. This combined with the ability to actually work the Polaris harder was a huge factor for me.

800twin...Thanks for the great response. The Bomb is an automatic...in fact everyone that i have ever seen is true automatic. I am glad that you brought up R&D...because that is where the rubber hits the gravel...consider this:
Polaris and Bombardier
POO: 6 months standard industry warranty BOMB: 3 year (and beyond, optional)
POO: Heaviest ATV in the world (800EFI) BOMB: 800 Bomb, 660lbs.
POO: most overstated engines in the market today BOMB: True 800cc rotax
for example, 800EFI...in reality 760cc
POO: manufacturer service history...lowest among all
manufacturers
We could go on. The point is, we are NOT really talking about "apples to apples." What we are talking about is as old as humanity itself:
My horse can beat up your horse. Brand loyalty. Lets ride...what ever you got...it's all about enjoying what God has furnished for us.
