Wiz--so your going to glenns ferry huh? That is 20 miles from my home town. BOrn and raised in Mtn. HOme. We havent been able to do any riding down there yet. Grew up hunting around anderson ranch dam. But since we moved to Post falls, the desert just doesnt compare to the trees HEHE!! Let u sknow when your wanting to do the elk river ride and we will see what we are up to. I know that we are going to help out iwth the Iron Man in June.

Ragged Glad ya'll made it back safe. We went snowmobling 5 years ago in the Ashton area and got into some bowls that looked like would release any minute. Luckily we got out safe but my husband broke his back on the ride out--jumping. But luckily no surgery was needed. Guess later that winter that aarea had like 4 or 5 avi's release.

Well I've been lurking, just not much to say. Weekend of the 12th we went ridin over at Laid Park and spent the night. Can you say b b brrrrrrrrrrrr ! Judging by the lack of snow where we were, Elk River should be clear. Hard to say what it is like up by the butte though. I've been there in July when you couldn't get to the tower. I will ask around and see if anyone knows for sure what the snow conditions are up there.
Sounds like I found another atv finally. Nothing exciting, just a '97 honda 300 2wd. Plan on picking it up on Thursday.

 

Ragged--I haven't got stuck yet. Had 'er almost submerged but just put in the locker and backed right out. I might have a couple of days free with the kids and quads the very first weekend in April. The kids have spring break then and I'm taking the last part of the week off. Hopefully I can get a couple more quads up here then. I"ll let you know as soon as I find out something.

 

Kori…Like I said, I don’t know iffin I’m gonna like that desert riding after spending my life riding in mountains and trees, but it’ll be fun just riding with friends from down in that area anyways. Where can I get more information about that poker run in Santa? That might be a neat way to explore another new area I’m not familiar with!

Ragged…I’ve got your number in mind whenever I’m looking for a riding partner. Do you normally work Mon.-Fri. or do you sometimes have time off during the week? Also, if your serious about a GPS, I’d suggest a Garmin V Deluxe package, it’s a little out dated with the black and white screen, but for around $250.00 you get the GPS, PC cable, 12 volt cigarette lighter cable, car mount and most important, the Mapsourse CD which has all the roads in the US and Canada. If you just had to by the Mapsourse CD, I think that would set you back around $100.00 for that alone, so that’s why I think that a pretty good buy to get started with.

MHWASH….thanks for the input on the southern areas, I think this is the year to make an early trip to all the mountains that are normally snowed in until June or July, otherwise it’ll be too dusty to really enjoy the rides. You kinda sound like you enjoy my style of ridding, putting along forest service roads, enjoying the scenery. Say HI to your cities finest men in blue, they’ve missed talking to me the last couple of times I’ve been through your town.

OK, guys and gals, I know this is short notice, but a bunch of my Geocaching buddies are meeting at the Nettleton Gulch parking lot Sat. morning 9:30 for a ATV/GPS/Easter Egg hunt. Hey Ragged...Do your kids a favor...forget Polaris! You know how I feel about these .....................................machines? Get those kids something that really rides....Suzuki...or honda.
