There is a big group of riders starting in Kingston and riding to the Cascade Lodge. I did this ride last year and sucked in a bunch of dust. Instead we could take off from Bunco Rd. (across from Silverwood) and go to the Cascade Lodge or just head whereever.
Or, we could go up Rathdrum mountain. I've never done this ride but heard it's not a long ride. Launch point is immediately east of Rathdrum.
I'm open to other suggestions although I don't really want to drive a long distance to get to a launch point. Where were you thinking of going?

If you all go up to rathdrum mountain we have heard that the closer you get to the top some people have put saw blades that come out of the stumps to try and cut down tires. One of the guys my husband works with rode his dirtbike up there and said he nearly landed on one. We personally have not been up htere to see it, but the last time we were up there you had to have a permit to ride on the mountain. Also the logging up there has taken away some of the trails near the top.
So if you go--be careful.

Bomb.....Walace / Kellog are the areas I'd like to learn....are the good trails? ...Im tired of logging roads and seek out the trails when ever I can....
Rathdrum is Inland paper and you do need a permit.....when you get to the saddle there are signs stating that...Im not sure what to make of the Foot traffis signs.....they are right on the main trail....My guess is the only access with out a permit is foot traffic................BIG mud on the trail up from there......all the way to the top..
Pastor....what happened to your icon...you need to get that fixed....

We do most of our riding down in the st joe area. Our friends have ariver lot along the JOe so we stay there and ride from there place. We also enjoy riding up by bumblee bee mtn and to the different look outs north of there. We are heading to the poker ride out of Smelterville this saturday. We are not goign to do the ride to cascade lodge this year though as its basically just road riding.
Anywho--then again does it really matter where u go aslong as you get to ride!!!!!

Ragged we will have to go up to Kellog later this spring and summer... I think there is still quite a bit of snow up there right now..the trails are top notch and trust me I still have plenty to see up there , the trails just go everywhere. I found a trail last season that takes you up to the top of the highest chair at Silver Mountain. I wish I could tell you that the view was great but it was a cloudy rainy summer day can't wait to go back and take some great pics.
