Bunco time

 

Thanks for the tip IdahoSpud, Kavuday and I went up to try out this trail today and had a blast. We were curious to see just what an "advanced riders only" trail was like, but we didn't have any problems, and actually looked forward to the numerous creek crossings to add a little challenge to the ride. The trail # is 803, and we made a loop by hitting 803A part of the way down, then taking the road to tie back into 803 and back up. The bottom part of 803 isn't all brushed out yet, so we had to work our way through some thick stuff, but it opened back up after a while. We also made a side trip up to Cougar Peak Lookout for the Geocache up there, and all told put about 33 miles on the quads. The trailhead is located at N 47 44.197 W116 17.143 (WGS 84 map datum), and is open from Memorial day thru Labor day. Don't let the advanced rider thing scare you, any fairly competent rider should handle this ok, and the 40" width limit isn't a big deal either, my quad is almost 50" and I had no problems with it.

Went for a short ride up Kath rd behind the house...for some reason they have closed off the state land ...there wernt many trails to ride but it awas good for a short run in the evening....[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/img]

we should plan a spokane area riders ride .....what do you guys think of the last weekend in July??? how about throughing out some ideas on places to go....some where you can camp would be cool too....[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

I'm getting together with some of the guys at work on Saturday for a ride. If anyone wants to come with they are welcome to. We haven't decided where yet, but I'm thinking about 4th of July pass.

 

Heather and I are heading down to the St. Joe on friday for the weekend. Brad is volunteering for the Ironman so he will be busy with that. We hope to do some riding up either Falls Creek or over by St. Joe city.

I talked to the group today, and we have decided to go to the bunco again. There is a group from work called the Duck Club that is camping at Whiskey Rock, so we plan on riding there to have a beer around the campfire and then hit some trails in the area. We have to get a late start, since one of the guys has to take a load of tree limbs from the storm to the dump in the morning so we are going to meet at the bunco parking lot at 10:00. If anyone wants to tag along just show up and join in.
