mudslinger 400z i have seen quite a few piped z 400 on the dunes here in oregon and from what i have seen they seem to be maybe just a little bit faster than a piped 400 ex.my wife just raced a piped 400 kawi yesterday on our comp hill at the dunes where we ride and on her 440 ex she beat the kawi by about four lengths in a race that was about 300 feet long and uphill so the 400s both the kawi and suzuki seem to do very well.

I just want to say that as a V Force owner, it is nice to see some Yamaha owners (of which I am also) who are being fair. You are absolutely correct about the V Force being new and void of many aftermarket parts. In addition, many of us are weary of modding until after the 6 month warranty is up. Give us some time and we will be very competitive with Raptors and the Big Bomb's .
I have tons of respect for Rappys and Bombs, and I am just glad to be involved with Sport Quads in a time where we have so many choices. Five years ago you had your choice of a 400EX, Warrior or Banshee (nothing wrong with them, just not as many choices)
Gotta go and good luck with your Raptor Mods....

Currently our dyno tuner in NZ has a V force in the shop, dual pipes, rejet and igniton alterations has it at 58 rwhp, basically thats in built 686 land at alot more $$$$. I'd hate to think what cams, compression increase and carbs will do for these things. Apparently the torque converter on these is nothing short of amazing at getting the power to the ground and even more so when modded.
We have seen a basically stock vee force roost a DS dyno'd at 53 rwhp for the first 300 plus feet, the DS finally got past at like 4 th gear. Lets just say the DS owner was not happy.
The "force" whilst a bit of any ugly tank IMO are shaping up to be pretty damn fast and can rev out a allot harder than the Raptor on top end.

Well, my V may not be sleek and sexy like a Raptor, but neither and I, so I guess my big ugly bike fits it's big ugly owner........I may have to get my wife a Rappy since she's the sexy one... But she prefers automatics....When does the Automatic Shaft driven Raptor hit the shores anyway?
