Default ran my raptor against a gas gas 300 and a new kawi 700 today

well today i finally got a chance to race both the new gas gas 300 and the kawi 700 and i was able to beat both of them by at least 2 quad lengths in a drag race up our comp hill in florence oregon.i just thought some of you might be interested in these results because both of these machines are very new and perform very well.the kawi 700 had dual aftermarket exhaust and paddles and the gas gas was all stock except for paddles.being able to beat both of these machines today surprised me even though i know my raptor is pretty fast.from what i saw the gas gas will need some performance mods to keep up with the faster two strokes.i wasnt sure what the outcome would be in either case but you dont know until you try.keep in mind that i am 6'4" and 260 lbs and these results are more impressive.i should mention that i finally took the lid off the raptor and jetted way up from mikuni 160 -165 mains to mikuni 175 -180 mains and that really helped and also i ran against these quads three times to make sure of the results.sorry if this sounds like bragging but i thought some of you might want to hear the results from todays trip.

102mm 11:1 piston, you should have beat them by 5-6 7,8 bike lengths imo.

wshrdskin- you must not have had a chance to run against any of these 700 kawis because they are very fast and are very hard to beat off the line, have you ran against any that were piped or are you basing your opinion on what you have heard?if i would have raced them longer than the approximately 300 feet that we did i am sure i would have walked away even more but we were limited by the length of the hill. also keep in mind the extra weight that i am pushing that is a big factor.

dune i'll back you on that one, i saw a green one with dual exhaust and it was quick. i raced with the piped ds and won but it wasn't easy. i ran that gas gas also basically the same results as you. but people don't seem to know our comp hill is rather short, the race is over before it gets going. well we'll see you next weekend.

I've never seen a Gas Gas. Its a 300cc 2 stroke right? Shees are 350cc 2 stroke. My bike is similar to yours and I am 6' 250-60lbs myself. I kill shees that are stock or piped and jetted by 5 lengths or more 7-8 if they aren't tuned well. This is up comp hill at Dumont. This hill is fairly long. Possibly 300' long. I've seen 2 V700's at dumont, raced one. They were both stock and both were useing stock tires. I let the 700 get 1/4 of the way up the hill and blew by him between the 1/2-3/4 way mark. Rider ability, stock tires, I know the scenarios. They start fast but without paddles they don't take to the hills well. At least the couple I've seen.

we've seen the same thing with the stock v's but that dual exhaust made that thing wake up, and like we said we still win but the thing is going to rip when they get a cdi and some engine parts.

I'm not dissing the V force. The 2 I've seen scream off the line, but with stock tires seem to die going up the sand hills, they make it up they just aren't heavy on the power anymore. I have no doubt they can be made faster. Is your friends raptor camed and ported? I'm sure I'll be humbled one day by the Vforce, I have no doubt. Money talks. sandman- the kawi that i raced was a green one with dual exhaust and it was very fast but i was able to beat him the few times we raced but those automatics are very quick off the line. jetting up and removing the lid really helped but now i am going to try and get a new and stronger clutch installed before this weekend but even if i dont we will be there.

sounds like the same quad it also had a orange one running with it. i raced it with the piped ds and won then i got mine and won about like you then he went and got his banshee, well i paid for the other win it was stupid fast. it was a small rider when i raced so i was very impressed with the runs it made.
