NO it really doesnt feel any different than before, I just thought it was because I hadnt rode in 8 months due to the trannygoing out and waiting on parts to get up again.

 

Its amazing how people respond when the see a predator in action..........mostly slack jaws and stunned silence..........Especially when a 500cc quad hangs within a quad length or two of a 660cc quad............like someone else mentioned, your mods should be putting out about 45 horsepower, but thats about what the pred is putting out too.......I've seen average 40-42 horsepower dyno charts for them.

The pred also has a 10.25:1 piston from the factory, and when you do some airbox mods, a slip on pipe, and jet and tune it, its a pretty potent package.........my experience is that it comes down to rider skill and weight. Comparing machines dirrectly, a Predator, Raptor or Cannondale are all very very close in power.

Tune what you got, but hey "don't be frightened, its just a little old Polaris........." heh heh heh.

I am running 92 octane is that not enough with these mods? but it seems to run good on the bottom and mid is ok.

 

Before the tranny upgrade and the motor mods with just the filter, airbox mods and a GYTR slip on I had beaten cannondales, DS 650s, banshees and other stock Raptors, now I cant I will let you know how it is after the gytr carb kit and I getb theair screw and settings figured out. And thanks to those who heloed me out it is appreciated.

 

Sorry. A properly piped and jetted Raptor will get 45 hp. A Raptor with his mods will be in the low 50's somewhere. Somthing is wrong with his quad. Here is a Dyno of my 11:1 stage 1 hotcam quad. Sock bore, stock valves, no porting. On 91 pump gas.

yamahopper, you have only tried 165/170 mains???? Is your filter dirty or over oiled?? If you want max performance you need to remove your airbox lid and spend some time working on your jetting. do a search here on the forum for jetting procedure and plug chop. Start with the mains, needles, pilots, then fuel screws. You will get there [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

 

I have some input on this topic. I just spend 2 days at Walden spending all my time at the comp hill and the drag strip (flat sand strip). In the entire 2 days I did not lose to any other 4-stroke machine. My predator outran all stock banshees and even outran a guy with a hmf piped banshee by about a quad. Even when I didnt get the holeshot my pred pulled hard in second and passed the raptor half way up the hill. Next year I'll have the 580 kit and maybe run a little closer with the highly modded banshees. MY observations from Walden on the fastest machines is - #1 high modded Banshees, #2 Trinity 727 Raptor (he wouldnt race me but i think he would win), #3 my Predator, #4 440 Canondale cannibal. As for my first trip to the dunes with my Predator - I can say I am nothing but pleased with its performance. Heck, I'm still grinning now!

Here is me and my brother racing at comp hill Dumont. This is my 11:1 stage 1 cam quad. Not the same mods I run now. His is similar in mods to what mine was then.

This is not a dis on the Predator. Check my many comments how they are good quads and I wouldn't mind having one. This is to point out that his Pistoned and cammed Raptor is not running right. And if you didn't lose to any other 4 stroke then their were no built 4 strokes at your hill that day.
