Default oil leak, help please.

I have an oil leak on the bottom banjo bolt in the case. I did not use new crush washer when I put it back in last time, I know I know. So now I am going to replace them. BUT my question is, will I lose my $6 a quart oil when I take this bolt out to replace them? I know I will lose a little but how much? Should I just go ahead and drain it all first?

TIA

you shouldn't lose all of the oil when you take the bolt out. BUT i am not positive. Just to be safe and not have oil going down your arm or all over yuor floor I would drain all of the oil first, you can always put it back in when you are finished,

You'll only lose the oil that is in that line and behind it inside the case that that line feeds until the level in the motor is at the level of the bolt you just removed. If its the one between the clutch cover and top of the right case then you'll lose less. If its the one from behind the water pump area to the head you'll lose more cause the line is longer and you might lose a little from the cam area also. But either way you won't lose much and if your fast enough you'll lose less.
