Default Tires for Grizzly

Whats up guys i bought a grizzly a couple of days ago and its awesome. My friends all ride 4x4 as well. I put them to shame as where i can go anc they cant in mud. I want to know how much bigger a tire i can go on my grizzly without lift kit i think i can put 26s on easliy but what about 27 i have stockers on it now. Any info would be helpful thanks.

seems like the general rule is 27" w/o spacers/lift and 28" or larger needs spacers and/or lift

I plan on going with 26" Mudlites on mine. No lift etc needed

I have 27" Claws. They are about as tall of a 27 as you can buy. They will rub on the back little black inner fenders if you jump or do anything to really squat the suspension, but thats all. 27's will fit just fine on it.

Tri-Claws rock the house man. When I got mine, they were fairly new and the only other 27 was the Vampire. The Vampire guys really tried to downplay the Claws, but the Claws are just as good if not better than a 27" Vamp. Plus they ride a ton better. Then MudBugs came out with a 27 and they were light, but just didn't have that massive mud tread like the Claws and Vamps have.

There are a lot of good mud tires out now, and some better suited for some things than others.

Pure mud, go with a Vampire, Outlaw, Mudzilla, Bi/Tri-Claw, or something with a big deep lug. For good mud capability with still decent trail aspects, the Mudrunner is probably the best, followed by 589's and Mud Bugs and Gators and that type. A lot of guys have 589's here (because the Honda dealership pushes them like crazy) and they are a good tire too. They aren't as good as the Claws in mud, but I bet they ride better and have better loose dirt traction. Claws work like a tiller in the loose dirt and tend to dig holes pretty much. But then again, they are a mud tire.

Saw a friend's Rubicon with 27"Claws just walk right through a mudhole that another dude's Rubi with 589's had some trouble with. (this guy had 589's before he got the claws). When he got out, some goofy backwoods toothless inbred that was there watching it asked what kind of tires they were. His reply.... "The right kind"
