The new yamaha is missing one thing
Heres what i want to know. What is the offical stupid animal name for the new 450 ? Its not like yamaha to forget the name.
How about
t-rex
velocaraptor
raven
Theres plenty of mountains out there to name it after.
Maybe they decided they didnt want people to make fun of the name like craptor ,blowarus, who knows.

I agree. It's breaking tradition for yamaha to have a quad without a name. They really dropped the ball with this one. Letters and numbers are for honda, suzuki, kawasaki, etc... Yamahas have names. I like it that way and I wish yamaha had kept the tradition rather than mimiking the suzuki.

I think they used letters and numbers to link it to there yz dirt bike and gear more toward being a mx racing bike rather than throwing a name on it. most people know that when they hear yfz 450 that its not just a 450 motor in a quad but that it is related to the powerful yz motor

Thats interesting, I wonder if cannondale changed the name of thier quad from the fx400 to moto ,speed, ect, they might have been trying to make a race quad appeal to trail riders.
I guess if Yamaha they kept with the bear names they might have had trouble selling it as the Panda or the teddy or the polar bear.
And whats with the use of the letters y v z x r do they mean any thing or do they just sound cool.
Im going to play my X box now and later go get some ice cream in my zr1 (which needs a new set of Firestone svx's)
