get a dirtwheels and look at the adds and see how much the price is on the stuff they are wanting to sell you, i know tires are a lot cheaper at rocky mountain than a dealer. so i would guess all the riding gear would be cheaper there. but get a helmont before you ride.

The 450 is great all around bike. You won't go wrong.
Try to get the dealer to throw in a helmet and gloves with the deal. You'll need gloves with how hard the grips are. Plus a helmet is just a good idea. If they want to charge you for them you would be better off buying from and aftermarket company.
You can get an good helmet for around $100.00-$150.00
Also I ordered torq riding gear (baggie pants, gloves & jersey) with oneal atv riding boots for I believe around $180.00

While riding gear is important (I wear it) My suggestion is to NOT buy it from the dealer if its your first ATV. There are ALOT of choices out there and chances are your dealer doesn't carry them all. Wait and check out Rockymountainatv.com or Cyclegear (its a national chain of street/mx outfitters). Cycle gear is awesome if you have one in your area. The Cycle Gear in OKC (I assume they all do) currently has a deal where you buy the Oneal hardware pants for 150 and you get a free matching jersey and gloves with it. thats about 70 bucks in savings so you can't beat that.

I heard they are going to stop selling 2-strokes (Banshee) by 2004 and by 2006 you will not be able to get tabs for them. So no ORV parks but you will be able to race them.
As for the gear its better to try it on at the dealer and get the sizes you need then go on line and order them. Try w_w_w_._G_M_O_1_._c_o_m (take out the spaces)good deals on gear.
The 450 as a first bike? You can’t go wrong really with it just go at the speed that you can handle. You don’t need to race your buddy that been riding for a year as soon as you get it.
