The kxf/z400's are a match for a raptor, but only when its in the first 100-150 yrds. You said youare running 150 yards right? I woudl say its possible for the bike (kxf) to at least be next to a Rappy in 150 yards, but its is some driver too, if you are winning all the time. But I can hang witha piped Raptor on my womans piped z400, for about 100-150 yrds.
Don't forget about rider weight too!

Read any shootouts that were put together professionally and they all show that the KFX and LTZ got pulled ahead of at the start by a good distance by a Rappy. 400 cc engines don't have the torque to keep up with a 660 at the start, it's all torque and the bigger cc's have that advantage. Raptors are quick out of the hole. I'm not bashing the KFX I'm just stating facts.

Uh, as far as the short race, 300ft is the distance of a competition sand drag. As far as the KFX400 eating a raptor in that distance... NO WAY. My brother rides a KFX400 and I ride a raptor. Even before we both modded our bikes, I could eat him up in 300ft and he is about 80lbs lighter than me. On the same turf with the same traction, the raptors horsepower should quickly overcome the kfx. The KFX is a nice bike, but its just a difference of displacement. If the a stock KFX is beating a stock raptor, either the raptor owner can't ride or can't tune his bike right.

Yes, you are right along with the periodicals you have referenced. I'm sure I was just "lucky" with the 300ft race against a machine that has a 260cc advantage. No doubt the Raptor has exceptional torque and power as well as the potential for being a serious sport ATV. I would get one myself if it would stay on all four wheels during the majority of riding, but it is rumored to be "tipsy"?
