ok im not saying the yfz is a bad quad, i just dont get what is so great about it. i know its pretty much race ready but id rather get a z-400 and mod that. a raptor is faster than the yfz ( a pro even said it ) and a predator is faster than a raptor ( even look in the august issue of atv action when they did the shoutout between the predator, vforce, ds650, and raptor ) so i mean id rather not spend $8 grand on a yfz when i could get a predator that has some of the best suspension ( virtually no bumpsteer, anti-dive, anti-squat ) or a z-400 ( one of the best quads ever made no one can argue ) and modify that. i just cant find myself to spend that much money. and im not brand biased either.

It's the first show room floor, out the door, race ready quad. It's a big step for all of us because it means the manufacturers are starting to listen to their customers. Plus, it's a first year quad that everybody is comparing to quads that have been around a few years and it's standing up to them. What are you going to say next year when they tweak it a bit here and there.

a predator is faster than a raptor,i have friends with a predator and a few with a raptor,there all stock and everytime the raptor gets the take off but around 4th gear the predator comes up and passes the raptors everytime so say what you want,but i saw it.

 

You rather get a z-400 and spend $2,500 just on a big bore etc. (and it still wont hang with a yfz) and have to pull it all apart to send the frame out to get welded for $700?! Yah thats what I would do to........
The only place a crapter is faster than the 450 is in the top end 2 mph woopie doo. Besides its a m/x quad
And who cares what a magazine says its all BS. I believe in real world testing like what ive seen and what people in here seen or done. The 450 is only 7k not 8k which i think is a good deal. So go ahead and and get a z400...I dont think there any better than a 400ex (except the reverse). The predator is a pos that is falling apart at the seams. Admit it the yfz 450 is the only real choice!

Its not the first off the showroom floor race quad...the Cannondale Moto 440 was.

 

yamaha 660r a predator is faster than a raptor they did drag races and the ds 650 came in first the predator in second the raptor in third and the v force last

 

ds650 are only good for drags, they dont compare to a raptor / predator in trails / dunes
