how much will it cost to replace the right front wheel bearings and how much do u think a mechanic will charge to put them in?

THe bearings and seals should cost any where between $30-60. THe mechanics cost would probably be for 1.5 -2 hours labor. THe cv boot shouldn't cause the bearings to go out only the seals would do that.

 

I put sealed front wheel bearings in mine. I got the bearings for about 9 bucks a piece. Requires 4 of them. Seals were around 12 bucks from dealer. If you ride alot in mud and water, get the sealed bearings.

 

A torn cv boot wont make your bearings go bad, what will go bad is the cv joint, and the outside joint is not replaceable. You have to buy the whole shaft. A new boot is around $50. dollars. I had my front bearings replaced and boot one time and it ended up costing $300. From that point on I do all my own work. You need to replace the boot. Because a new shaft will cost you a whole lot more then a boot and the time it takes to replace. It's easy to do.
