I slotted the two mounts and grommets that hold the front of the gas tank so I can slide the tank out by just removing the seat, plastic under the cap, three bolts and the fuel line and slide it out. Anyone else tried this?

Sounds like a good idea, what are the 3 bolts (1 at the rear of the tank, the other 2 are??)

The three bolts would be the three that hold the tank on. I'm not at my quad and can't remember but, can you even get to the front two bolts on the gas tank with the front plastic on? I guess you can SixsixT is doing it. That'd save some time during re jetting for sure.

No the front two bolts stay in and tight and the slotted part slides in and out of those.
Save time adjusting the intake valves when doing maintenance too.
Works good so far but I haven't tried it with the plastic on yet, doing some engine mods so I have the plastic off right now.

Great idea, for some reason as soon as I take those 2 bolts off the one of the spacers always gets lost. Is there enough room to slide it in and out without bunching up the rubber gromet? Maybe get bolts just a hair longer and double nut it from the bottom if thats a problem for just a hair more room and movement in the metal spacer (so it can turn)?

That is an excellent idea, just spread the plastic and pull the tank out the back, I love it. Great time saver.

LOL Yeah those little spacers like to go rolling all over the garage floor.
I tapered the front of the grommets a little on the grinder and will use a little wheatherstrip adhesive to make sure they stay in place, but haven't needed it with 6 or 8 trial fits.
It doesn't seem to need any more heighth with the spacer.
