I am looking for people to back me up .. I would like to get soemthing going to go after Yamaha. Yes i love the yamaha and i always will but .. i hear of so many ppl having problems with the tranny. Only on the 2001's tho.. Whats up with that.. So If you wana try going after yamaha with me.. just email me and we will start trying. I was just coming off of a little lip and i was in soft sand just going into 2nd gear. I was just puttin around. I dont know what happened... I havent had time to check it all out yet.. i want yamaha to have to pay and fix it tho.

 

I have replaced mine twice on my 01'.... and the third time i put a Forton racing gearset in mine and ni problems yet!

 

I got a 01...shes still holding up....hopefully it might not go out

my tranny is still working.no problems.i called yamaha to see if there was anything i could do before anything happens.a real snotty bitch replied"there are no recalls or bulletins regarding your vehicle.it is deemed fine.is there anything else i can help you with today?"it seems like it wasnt enough of an issue or liability for them to deal with.i guess it has to be handled legally for anything to be resolved.unfortunately its not cost/time effective unless you have a free lawyer or you were injured and can provide evidence that the 01' tranny was at fault.yamaha would argue that its lasted this long so it must have been abuse or something to that affect.so it doesnt seem to be an easy or quick thing.

 

I own a 01 and I noticed my One Way bearing is going which I hear is another problem. My tranny is still holding up but for how long? Is there an e-mail address to bombard them? A lot know of this problem and a lot seem to have fixed it but how many with broken trannies actually MENTIONED this to Yamaha? I can't understand why Yamaha hasn't recalled the 01 models and fix them. They are the one of the biggest manufacturers of ATVs I'm sure they can cover this.

When that guy broke his back on that YZ for the throttle being stuck and he sued them sure enough, Yamaha recalled all thier bikes. Does someone need to be injured for this to get fixed? I guess since 04 models are being produced I guess they are hoping that the numbers will die off on owners of 01 models.

 

yamaha seems to be sweeping it under the carpet.the more time that goes by the worse it will get.i get brushed everytime i call someone.i bet they are afraid it will be like admitting fault and make them more liable.if anyone knows an email or number that might connect me to someone with authority i would proceed an attempt for relief.
