clutch adjustment.... help?¿?¿?¿?
#1
my clutch was slipping in 5th and 6th gear on my banshee... so i adjusted it on the lever and it didn't seem to help. now the lever has to be the whole way out for the clutch to grab.... right now, the case is off. all of the plates look good. the steel ones aren't burnt, and the fiber ones seem to be fine. is there a test to see if it's adjusted correctly before i put it all back together?
thanks!

cranking on your adjuster at the lever does nothing for the quality of the engagement of your clutch. It is only a means to get ride of the free play at the lever. If you've had it over adjusted(ie: no slack at all at the lever) then your plates are probably toast. Meaning the fibers are probably glazed over. Sometimes you can fix this by turning them on some fine grit wet/dry sand paper, but if that doesn't work its time for a new set of plates. For the free play adjustment I run a nickel's thickness between the lever and the perch.
