Well it sounds like everyone agree's. But I have been preached to my whole life and even on my rocket I don't wear my helmet that often. I live in ILL and we have no helmet laws. I stunt ride on my rocket and we do stands up's around 130. I were my helmet then but not when we are just crusing. And for the quad the only time I wear my helmet is when I am jumping or during races. I Have crashed alot in my day but only one serious and was wearing a helmet then. Keep preaching everyone but for some reason I still decide on my own.

I always wear one when I'm out on the trails and even more protection when I'm on the dirtbike. For backyard tuning,I usually don't,but then again,I'm not hauling *ss or pulling wheelies either.
I see alot of guys riding without helmets,IMO they are idiots, not only are they ruining the sport of off-roading,their ruining there chances of a normal life.Just think of how much fun you could have in a wheelchair,or braindead in a chair. Not to say that a helmet will save your life 100%,but it greatly improves the odds.If you love this sport,do your part.
Kudos to you guys with kids,Its good to set an example when there young, cause when they get older, putting a helmet on will be something they "want"to do.
If you decide not to wear one, thats your choice, but I cringe when I hear of accidents where the rider wasn't wearing a helmet.Especially if it made a difference between life and death.I don't know any of you personally, but the connection is the same as motorcyclists.Anyone who rides an atv is a friend.

Food for thought
Remember i said i hated wearing a helmet when i was a kid.
A lot of guys that rode with us felt the same. one guy who was a year younger than me crashed his three wheeler not that fast and not that wreckless just a run off the mill come off.
Since then he has only had a job at his fathers firm cleaning up as thats all he can do and he has never had a girl friend.
Because that day in a couple of seconds his life changed. the handle bar end penatrated his skull. As a result he cant talk properly any more.
his parents understand him most of the time!
And he is in pain a lot of the time.
Im 31 next birthday I am married and just like the rest of the guys who were lucky life goes on.
but what if your the unlucky one?

I've already replied, but here's one more...
Long before dirtbikes and atvs I rode mountain bikes - real hard. I did not wear a helmet. One year I spent some "big" dough on a sweet bike and figured I would take my riding to the next level. I also figured that for once I ought to consider wearing a helmet.
Got the helmet and the first ride of the year was coming around a corner and got my front wheel stuck in a crack between the curb and asphault. My helmet hit the top corner of the curb hard but I was fine. I figured I had learned my lesson and have never gone w/o once since regardless of which bike I'm riding.
