OK, first of all 5-way preload, meaning there are 5 lil "nothces" not 4, but 5. Second, Works shocks are not bad!! Maybe not as good at CT but they are half the price! Go with works, you wont need any better......trust me

Speaking of shocks when I push down on the rear of my 99 Warrior you can hear a screeching sound coming from somewhere around the rear shock or who knows it could be the rear shock. Is this normal? The shock still works great.

get works dual rate if you dont jump more then
5foot or higher. if you jump higher get works
triple rate and they will build them to your
weight and riding style. you can always add the cans later on the triple rates if you want.there
is a 1000 times difference.the duel rates are
about 300. and the triples are 350. save your money and buy the shocks!!!!!

All I can say is that Works shocks are good. They aren't the best, but they suit us non pro level racers just fine. As for the dual or triple rates for MX, I calle works and they told me that for MX get the duals. He said the triple rates won't make a difference. You just go right through that softest 3rd rate. This impressed me, because instead of trying to sell my a higher priced product (i get them at cost anyways)he told me to save my money and get the duals with the rezzy's. Paid $365 for the duals with cans. Not too bad.

You may need to lubricate your suspension hardware. Shock bolt, pivot bolt and swing arm bolt. The pivot has a grease fitting but a good habit to get into is disassemble the rear suspension and lube all the hardware. Mud, sand and grit get in there andcause your suspesion to be stiff. The noise you hear may be caused by this.

1BadWarrior, I recently took apart all of my rear bushings, collars, etc. to clean them, and when I put it all back together, I heard a HORRIBLE screeching sound from the rear shock. I put my hand on it, and could feel the vibration when I pushed down on the grab bar. But after a days worth of riding it completely disappeared. I have no idea why, and know nothing about shocks, but it still works great.
