Mixing gas may be a drag but when your four stroke breaks prepare to sell a kidney to fix it. Think about it, with a two stroke there is no oil pump, no cams, no valves, no rockers, no cam chain, and alot of times no starter. Ill take kick start of electric any day. No worries about running the batter down, starter going bad, etc..... Two strokes are disliked by greenies now but give em a while........ theyl probably take.

How come everyone on here is obsessed with drag racing, but they buy fourstrokes which suck at it and cost 2x as much to keep up.

Jakal... I set off with the idea to outrun the 2 stroke guys on a 4 stoke! Yea its cost ALOT of money but I now have one of the fastest bikes at the track and the respect of most of the 2 stroke guys!

Granted if I would have sunk the money I have in my 4 stoke into a 2 stoke I would have a FAST like probably high 3 quad LOL, but it wouldn't have been near as fun getting there!

Just the look an a guys face when you pull to the line and he is on his banshee and knows he is going to win you can see it on his face (no way a Raptor can run with a banshee right)... Then the light turns and the next thing he knows he is telling you good race with a half smile at the end of the track and asking "what do you have done to that thing". LOL THAT is why I have chose to build a 4 stroke drag monster!

Of all the good attributes of the 2-stroke, there is a bad one that can't be gotten around.
The sound. That high pitched scream is annoying beyond desciption. Give me a good rumble
any day. And the torque curve of a 2-stroke is not suitable for the type of riding I do. I
can't stand the smell of burning 2-stroke oil. Makes me wanna puke.

For all the bad attributes of a 4-stroke, the sound is sweet music to the ears. Plus the low end
torque means I won't have to stay in 1st or 2nd all day. LOL

In general I don't ride with 2-strokers. They always think they have to be out front (of course
with their power curve they don't have a lot of choice). Which means I have to smell the oil
and hear the whining engine.

Hmmm, well you certainly have a valid point there. Answer.....I honestly don't know. But "everyone on here is obsessed with drag racing?"......uuummm not. I'm no drag racer, I'm a desert rat.

I think the baddest drag quads I have ever seen were monster built 2-strokes....some scarry stuff!

I just don't really understand the obsession, though I respect the sport. I think it's a completely different aspect of quads and not one I'm will to dump tons of $$$ into.

Just4Kicks.....that's what it's all about for me. My life is complicated and serious enough....I don't want it to be that way with riding because that's one of my great escapes.

BOTH!!!!

I ride my 2 stroke (Banshee) when I want that arm pulling power hit! No 4 stroke I've ridden can quite compete with that feeling, but my YFZ is the "first" 4 stroke to come pretty close though. I ride only in the sand where wheel spin is a plus. Espically on the steep soft hills that have no run at the bottom (Oregon dunes through the tree's or the big walls @ Glamis) you can't beat the wheel spin of a 2 stroke to get you moving up the hill at short notice. When I want to relax, putt, lug along or if I'm tired I ride my 4 stroke as it takes less out of me than my Banshee. As I get older I'm sure I'll kick the 2 stroke to the curb and only ride 4 stroke, but right now it's nice to ride both.
