Default Back into ATV'ing. Warrior Q's within

I finally got my Warrior back, it's been at a buddy's house for a year or so. Specs can be seen in sig. It doesn't start, I think some kind of electrical problem. It's been giving me trouble forever, so I think I'm going to tear it all down and rebuild the entire quad. While in the engine, which is already .020 over, I'd like to do a few things:

-Stroke it (who sells stroker cranks?)
-Wiseco 10.75:1 Piston
-Can you port stock heads?
-.450" Cam/Appropriate Valve Springs
-E-Series or R-4 Exhaust kit (leaning towards R-4)

Where can I get most of these parts? Obviously the pipe at www.whitebros.com Also, would you reccomend stroking it? Any other guys out there with stroker motors? Does 4-stroke tech still have a website?

With the mods listed above, think I could hang with a KFX/Z 400? Assuming same level riders.

Yes you can get the head on a warrior ported, and FST doesnt have a web site anymore. You have to call him. Powroll offers a stoker but they are updating their site so it doesn't give much info, and so did trinity racing but they too are updating. Everyone must be updating for the beginning of the new year.

Well, after reading up on some stroker motors and their reliability issues and $/hp, I've got a different, less extreme plan.

Wiseco 10.75:1 Piston (.020" Over)
.450" Lift Cam
E-Series Pipe

Would this make a nice, quick, reliable quad? Keep up with a Z-400? Thanks, this website looks cool.

Very similar setup to what I have. Yes, it makes a decently fast quad, however it would be quite foolish to expect 15 yr old technology to keep up with the latest and greatest technology. If you want to keep up with a Z400, buy one. If you want to improve upon your Warrior and make it more enjoyable, then go forward with your plans. But if you go into it with such high hopes, you are setting yourself up for disappointment, which will make the venture a waste of time and money. I got my '95 Warrior for $1k. I dumped another $600 into parts (Banshee front shocks, used Works rear shock..a rear '01 Raptor shock would also do the trick, flipped rims, .450 cam, high comp piston, DG exhaust, K&N filter, and rejetting) and for the $1600 I spent (mind you 1/5 the cost of a new Z-400), I have a fun, reliable and decent handling quad. But I enjoyed working on it, making it better, and most of all NOT SPENDING $6K ON A DAMN TOY! If you want the best out there, buy the best out there (and be ready to pay).

Keeping up with a Z400 isn't my goal, just was wondering. How on earth did you get all those parts for $600? So far, I've found the Cam/Piston kit (Cam, Ti springs, gaskets, 10.75 Piston) for $430 and the exhaust for $290 (White Bros. E-Series). That's already more than $600. Where is a good website for ATV parts? I found those prices at Alba's website.

Ebay.

Cam $75 off Ebay ($150 new)
Valve springs $70 (Megacycle)
Exhaust (came on the quad, but used can be found for $150)
Piston $65
filter $30
Banshee shocks (came off my Banshee, but on Ebay often for $50-60)
rear Works shock $200 (Ebay again), rear Raptor shocks often go for $80-100

Shop around for good used stuff. If buying used makes you ancy, then yes you'll definitely pay more to get that stuff new.
