Which do you prefer, Twist or Thumb??

My old 250x had a twist throttle and I used to love it...I never had a problem with jumps or whoops...I used to love reving that thing up with a twist, it just seemed a lot more sporty...I don't think I would change my thumb throttle now though. I think that if I took some really really long rides I would, but for just playing around in the dunes and the occasional drag race the thumb is okay...

twist is the way to go.. who wants to hang on to the bars with four fingers on one side??
hang from a pull up bar with only 4 fingers.. then try it with your thumb wrapped around the bar to..
as for the whoops, bumps, tight turns, woods and jumps.. just get a good 4 or 5 hours of practice on wiht the twist before riding at normal speeds.. you need to get beyond the learning curve before going all out.

If i Ever bought a bike, which i wont since im a die hard quad rider, i would throw a thumb throttle on it, I rode my friends ttr125, i thought the twist throttle was ok but id rather have a thumb anyday, if you have a twist on a quad, it would be hard to do a burn-out, but thats not a must, i learned how to do it on my friends bike

I've had bikes all my life, and quad's since 85. I ride the quad with a twist as well. Never any problems.
It's personal preference.

depends. for 90% of the time i could ride either and not have a problem. Only reason i've kept my 4 wheelers with thumb is because when im in a really tight slide or doing donuts turned all the way to the right over the years i have developed a habit of pulling my index fingers under and grabbing the thub throttle with my index and middle finger for hard right turns. this allows me to creep up on the seat and lean out a lot more without cranking my wrist sideways with my lower renthal bars on my wolverine. I do it on the thumb trottle on my sled also. On dirtbikes twist all the way thought. Other than that part i like them just about the same on quad i can ride either doesnt really matter.
