Default 05' YFZ450's????

I'm a small guy (155 lbs) and will probably never see any dunes so after alot of thought I'm currently selling my DS650 on ebay. When i do sell it I'm going to be purchasing a new yfz. If i could keep both i would but there is no way I could afford that. There are a couple local places that have quad mx that I would like to compete in so I thought the yfz would be best for that.

Here's my questions for you people. Does anyone know if the 05 yfz's are going to be bumped up to a true 450 and when do 05's usually his the dealer floors? Theres about 1-2ft of snow on the ground so i wont be needing one til spring. The only minor problems that I have heard so far are a couple battery problems and some people are having problems with coolant leaking. I dont know if anyone has heard of any changes that they will be making for sure, but list them if you know.

Thanks,
RoughRider01

If you are racing mx then the yfz450 if the fourwheeler you want. I dont know when the 05' comes out. To solve the battery i would get the kickstart option with the eletric start. And i doubt they are going to bump it up 11cc to make it a true 450.

Hell yes they are gonna bump it up. The reason they made it 439cc was because that was the limit when they designed it. Yamaha will take any advantage they can get so look for it to be better than ever.

I doubt its going to become a true 450. And the 450 will do great for its purpose, MX. If i were you and you were going to be racing MX, I would get the kickstart option, saves weight, and also solves the batter problem at the same time. Good luck with your purchase

So now they have a kit that you can still use the electric start with a kick start installed as well? I didnt know that, the last time i heard about the kick start was when selector first installed one and if i remember right he couldnt use his electric start.
