Snorkeling Problem
#1
I have an 04 Wolverine which I have recently snorkeled. Still wants to stall in the water but no water gets in the air box. Everything is snorkeled except exhaust. Buddy of mine said my exhaust is to big causing it to stall. Just wanting to know what I could do besides snorkeling it. They make a silencer for it but I don't know if that will assist my situation or not far as back pressure.

I've got everything snorkeled. Berts Dirt Works said that its a good possibility that it is my exhaust and the water is causin too much back pressure. Goin to Crosby this Saturday and rig a cheap exhaust snorkel to see if that is really the problem.

Yeah I thought of that already and have already done that. Still stalls. I know these things aren't made for water but you got to go thru it sometimes to get to more adventurous trails, instead of riding on the same trails over and over.

How deep is the water? Have you double checked all the connections/fittings?

The water is usually only up to the racks. It does good for a while but like right when I'm almost out it tends to stall. I have the 2 diffs, carburetor breather, and fuel tank snorkeled. Put dieletric grease on spark plug and the other connectors that were easy to take off. Tomorrow I'm gonna run some flex hose for an easy snorkel and see if that prevents it. Thanks for all the replies though.

something i found on water crossings is the steam off of the engine gets drawn into the intake and go to the carb also did you look at the exhaust when it stalls-- black smoke might indicate water on the ign just a couple of thoughts let us know what you find my bike does rhe same thing about every other time
