Default Oil injection failed on stock 04 blaster!!!!

I called the store I got it from. He said that never in all his years had a Blaster Oil Injection had failed. But he also said he would have to take a look at it and he said if he finds a part he has to send it to Yamaha and they decide if its from rider abuse or not.

What!? It still has a stock pipe and silencor on it. I just took the baffle off. And the air lid all that does is increase air flow. And I rejetted it for winter from a 230 to a 245 becuase it was still running to lean. I havent rid it to hard.....its a 2-stroke your supposed to keep the RPMs up.

Thats why i rejetted it 2 times! Might as well just take the whole jet out! if it still runs leans. And almost everyone I know who has a blaster took there lid and baffle off and there pistons didnt fry.
BUT! i think the pistion rings are just fried! is that cheaper?!

If the piston rings are fried that means that there is no oil going to it? So does that mean the oil injection had failed in it and cut off oil to it?

Well I called the store....And I asked him what was happened to it and he said that the piston was melted. So I asked him how could it happen and he said the I either didnt put any oil in it or I put some kind of octane enhancer in the gas. Even thou I didnt. And he said that Yamaha wouldnt warranty it. BUT he said he will goodwill warranty it thou. and he said if it happens again its my responsibility. He practically said i was abusing it and I havent. If it blows another piston im gonna have to be paying about 500 bucks. Why wont yamaha warranty a freaking 2 month old fourwheeler!!

well....i put the air lid and baffle back on and when he gets it done i will put the stock 230 jet back in it...(to let you know there is NO MODS on this fourwheeler that is my mx blaster.) so then this blaster will be BONE STOCK nothing done to it! I dont know what to say if Yamaha wont warranty a 2 month old fourwheeler that has barely been ridden....Also I need to know if I should take it easy on the blaster for a while with a new piston in it? the dealer said that if it blows another piston its my responsibilty. So if it blows another im most likely just gonna sell it to someone. But its basically worth $hit if it keeps blowing pistons.

well now the store is blaming it all on me! They said I didnt put oil in it and they asked if I put some in before i brought it there! They said its from riding it on the road to much. They said it was all rider abuse. Even thou I prly road less then 15 hours on it. And only like every weekend for ice racing.

It should be coverd under warranty but don't count on the dealership fixing it. This happened to my little bros blaster. They blamed it on jetting and that it was running lean, and they even installed the pipe, silencer, air filter and jet kit. If you put a pipe, silencer or air filter on the blaster I know they will blame it on you, somehow. Get a block off kit and run premix that way you wont have to worry about the injectors, and put up with the dealerships crap.

Sorry it had to happen to ya

Not surprising. My local Yamahaha dealer pulled the same type of crap on me with a POS Kodiak.
With NO mods and barely 10 hours. Different problems, same dealer BS.
Seems to be a chronic response amoung Yami dealers - blame it on the owner.
