Has anyone else experienced a shifting issue with the yfz from 1st to 2nd? Mine stops at neutral waaay too often, and then i have to pull up on it a few times before it'll shift to second. I've never had this problem on any of my older bikes.. infact it use to be quite the opposite. (that it was almost impossible to find neutral. ) It also switches to neutral on a downshift as well. It use to be a half click up for neutral... did this change somewhere down the line and I just missed it? Or do I have a legitimate problem?

 

On the Raptor,I was told it was easier to find neutral when you change the shifter lever to one without the linkage,so on the 450 maybe if you do the oposite and put the linkage on?Is that possible,would that help?

 

I had this exact problem. Many other people have had similar problems. You should be able to do a search under
YFZ 450 sticky shifting in the Yamaha forum and find my post. End result was the Yamaha dealer fixed it and I haven't
had any trouble since.
