Started from the tank down: gas flows out the shutoff valve fine and through the fuel line, but then that's where I run into problems. I checked the float and it seemed ok. When I open the drain screw at the bottom of the bowl...nothing comes out. I cleaned the carb good and checked the jets to make sure they weren't stopped up. Could the part that shuts off gas when the float rises be stopped up? Thanks for the help.

that is called the needle valve --yes it could have something plugging the opening up. pull the pin that holds the float in place on the towers, and remove the needle valve--mine is held in by a philips screw next to it. If all looks good use compressed air to blow thru the port. make sure the needle valve moves freely inside the seat.
good luck,

make sure your vent tube in your gas cap isnt plugged. this will create a vacuum in your tank ands fuel will not flow.

You must have jinxed me, a day fter I first saw this post my 2K wolverine started doing the same thing. I took it in to the dealer and they found debris in the float bowl.

It was covered under warranty.

I will be adding a fuel filter this weekend.
