Are you sure your not hitting the rev limiter? Does it wind out in gear and then start to sputter until you shift again?
If that's the case, you are reaching the rev limiter.

So what your saying is that yamaha built an atv that will allow you to rev it until it grenades? It could be true...I just find it hard to believe.
I'm going to look into this more considering I had a warrior...time to check the book. (well..whenI get out of work)

The thing with the warrior is the valve train on it is poor. What happens when you get up high in the RPM's is the valves start to float, unable to keep up with the demands of the engine. At that point you're starting to loose power and the ability to sustain the revs. I don't know what RPM this starts happening at, but most anyone with any real experience with the Warrior engines will tell you, there's no rev limiter on them, because with the stock internals it's just not able to rev all that fast. Not to say it doesn't need one for doing internal mods which would enable the engine to rev higher (i.e. stiffer springs) though. I'm not experienced with the Warrior engine myself, or any engine for that matter. Just going on what I've read and learned through this forum.
