Default Blaster Oil Pre-Mix Ratio

I just purchased a 1999 Yamaha Blaster. It has a fmf pipe, port polish, and bored .04 over i bieleve. The guy took off the oil injector pump and was wondering what ratio i should run for pre-mixing. I will be useing Yamalube 2-R and wasnt sure on what octane fuel to run. Here in Wisconsin we can get 93.

I would try 32:1 to start and check the plug and see how it runs. You should be safe at that ratio

I find 32:1 to be a little rich.
It dosnt foul plugs but it really leaves alot of oil behind on the spark plug.

Default Blaster Oil Pre-Mix Ratio

I tried yamalube and it doesnt burn for crap. i was always fouling plugs with it so i changed to golden spectro. it burns so much cleaner. it is alittle more exspensive but it is really good oil. but i know people that have really good luck with yamalube. maybee it is just becuase my 2 stroke is really old. i would ask about it. i have heard good and bad about yamalube. just my 2 cents

Default Blaster Oil Pre-Mix Ratio

When we used to own a Blaster, we took the oil injection system off.

We ran Yamalube 2R at 32:1 with 93 octane on a modded motor. We've also used Silkolene (100% syn) at 32:1. It's a good oil, but pricey.

Yamalube 2R is a very good oil (even though a lot of people talk bad about it....). It burns clean, keeps things lubed properly, and when you do have to do a top end rebuild, the motor will be clean - unless you've got it jetted way rich.

We run Yamalube in our Banshees now. Zero problems with the oil.

I've tried a few different kinds of oil (Klotz Benol, Klotz R50, Klotz 20% Benol/synthetic blend, Silkolene SX, Amsoil 2000, to name a few) and like the Yamalube 2R as good as any. I've formed an opinion of Yamalube 2R after seeing the inside of my motors, and it's as good as any oil out there. Cheaper than most, too.

Regards,
buttermilk
