Keep the old Banshee, or get a YFZ450 LE?

Please help me! I have a '96 Banshee, with works shocks, Toomey pipes, Vforce reeds, bigger carbs, cool head, and has been ported several times. It also has a Wiseco hot rods, and I know there are a few things I've left out. I like using it on the dunes and sand trails. It's not spark arrested and runs on 110 race gas. It's FUN to ride, but it's a hand full(!), but I can handle it. It has good low end for a Banhsee, and like most Banshees takes some skill to ride. (I've owned a Banshee since 1986).
I'm thinking about a YFZ450. I'm want to sell the Banshee before it looses much more resale, and before it breaks down (again). I've ridden a YFZ only a few minutes, and I own a '02 Raptor LE with a Yoush pipe. I want a machine that still needs some skill to operate with power bands and such, has gobs of power, but requires less maintenance and sets better. My impression of my limited YFZ ride is that it is easy to kill, even in 2nd gear, but sets and handles like a 250R.
I have an LE reserved for $6700, but can easily back out of it.
Whatdoyouguysthink?

anyway, i would kiss that banshee goodbye. sure you had fun on it and whipped some butt but its time to move on. i had one and at times i miss it (mostly the sound) but the new 450's are sweet. I bought the 450R. Not bashing the YFZ- its just that the 450R was better for me.
The downside is that the black plastic on the LE will show blemishes very easily. You may want to get the white/red one.

The first Banshees were released the spring of 1986 as 1987 models. The same thing happened with the Warriors. I bought one of the first of both machines. The engine serial number on the Banshee was in the 200's. It was really a great machine, rode it at dunes across the western US for 9 years. Bought one of the first sets of Toomey pipes for Banshees as well. While the black LE's are cool looking, I have to agree about the plastic. My black raptor is scuffed really bad, but it may be cool to have two black quads?
Is the YFZ geared lower in the first one or two gears than the 2002 raptor? The first gear in the 2002 raptor is still too high for hill climbing (for me) an I event changed the counter sprocket.
Also, any thoughts on sand tires. I have some 12 paddle Skat-track haulers on the banshee. The banshee NEEDS them but I think they'd be a bit much for the YFZ. I have geckos on the raptor. I'm looking at some sand stars for the new YFZ.
