Default Respect for the Warrior

I just replied to a post in another forum about the Warrior. And it is true that the Warrior gets little respect. Here is what I posted in the other forum:

I work for the Border Patrol and we use warriors to patrol the desert. It is the nastiest terain on the planet out here. Nothing but sharp rocks, deep washes and steep hills. Our warriors are some of the toughest machines ever made I believe. They get ridden six hours a day and wrecked, flipped, and rolled over down hills on a constant basis. The machines have outlasted most of the ATV crew with all the injuries this job involves. In my oppinion the Warrior is a mean awsome machine. It may not have the top end but it will climb a wall if you can hang on and they are super reliable.

Even the Yamaha dealers I went to were hesitant to recommend the Warrior for me. In the end I ended up buying a Z400 which I love. I just hope I'm not sorry about my purchase the first time it rolls down a hill.

They're not the best selling atv of all time for nothing

I love mine, though I wish it had a touch more power, and was a little lighter in the front end .. but the heavy front is also one of it's saving graces for climbing steep hills ...

Yeah I just sold our old 1987 Warrior, not because it didn't work , but because we bought two newer quads and couldn't justify keeping it anymore.
It never let us down, no matter how hard we beat it. It ran low on oil several times, got water in the oil several times, and never even blinked.
After all it's been through, it was a great machine till the day I sold it, Easter Sunday. And I sold it to a buddy, and the only thing I thought he should do to it was by new tires and wheels because it had the ORIGINAL tires and wheel on it. Those old tires were not even cracking yet, though the wheel had allsorts of major dents and dings. But other than that the bike did not need anything but gas and oil!

That thing would truly go anywhere, like a billy goat.

even though ive had a couple of small problems i guess thats expected when you modify any quad though
the warrior is one very reliable machine for the way mine gets beat it holds up quite well and some at the
local track are starting to respect it.
