asfasasu3 agreed.
People w/o training are dangerous to themselves and others. But, I will be the first to admit, I didn't take my training. Now I wish I had when I could get it for free or the money back.
Last time I was at Hollister some guy got his GF on the quad. She had never ridden one. And after about 3 minutes they (bf and others with him) tell her to ride up this trail that was blue square rated, by herself. DOH! They found her 1/2 hr later. She had crashed somewhere. Not hurt thankfully. She came down with a Ranger and someone else rode the quad back. I wanted to slap that idiot!

I will be the first to admitt that I am breaking the rules. I have a 10 year old son riding a 300EX. I will also admit that he had rode almost 3 years before he ever touched it. (On a LT80) He is tall for his age. And fits the 300 pretty well. But I always ride with him and his brother. And I have spent mayjor amount of time with him going over his riding. Most adults that have rode with us cannot believe he is only 10. He seems to have a good head on his shoulders and has so far made good decesions. When his riding gets beyond where I think his abilty is, the 300 goes to the garage! And he knows that 1 chance is all he gets. A week of not being able to ride really opens his eye's and he is not so eager to mess up again. I love to ride!! My kids love to ride!! But it has to be done safely. My sons ride with other kids at times, and have been asked to help teach kids important riding habits. I am bragging and am very proud of them. I know that this is all getting off subject so I will quit. There has been so much of this lately, but I still think everbody should get as much training as possible.

the dealer told me it was because a little kid could drive around on a quad...not having to touch the ground and all...but dirtbikes size chooses more because if u cant shift/touch the ground u cant ride it
