Broken throttle assembly
I smoked a tree this weekend and broke the throttle housing where the cable goes in I was thinking about trying to get it alum welded. Has any one had any luck doing this or can you weld the cast alum? It still seems to work even though the cable is expossed??
If anyone has a used one let me know.
thnx

I will assume, from your icon, that you have a Raptor.
I once did a chest plant in mine. Here's how to fix it.
I used a piece of 3/8" steel fuel line as a sleeve, by cutting threads on the outside of it with a 10mm die, then cutting it to about 3/8" in length. You will have to remove the throttle cable from the housing. Then, with the two old throttle housing pieces held together, screw the new sleeve into it until it is counter sunk enough to screw the throttle adjustment back into it.
Or, you could spend a hundred bucks on a new one from yamaha.
