Awesome.....another ride report to convince me that the 14:1 is where it's at.

Are you going to be putting some pic's up of the finished project Sam?

raptoraz- i agree (defend the builder) I personally like Kenz ( meet him 2 times and on the phone a few)

There was a lot of yaking on aniother site , so, on so on. In my opinion rapfams is a slow craycraft. But it is sure nice to throw super unleaded and go. And to run even/ahead/slightly behind with the so called premier builder is no small feet. There are plenty of fast craycraft 686's and 730's in different areas of the country that sparks can not compete with.

These pissing matches are pure nightly entertainment for me. So sling some sand and lets go

how would some cheap sand shark paddle tires do in cinders? I have never seen cinders but the video made it look like trying to ride in packing foam peanuts.

I would prefer some paddles to rip up over there, i think they would hook better then the knobbies..

Nice vids...is the KENZ bike on the stock swinger? It appears too not generate enough momentum pulling out. More wheelspin, properly controlled, turns into more speed on the big end.

yes my bike is on a stock swing arm and stock tires (bald) and stock rims and the cinders is the strangest place the rock there is lighter than sand and very soft and deep hard to get what you want out of your bike. My jetting was way to rich i had no pull on the top end at all and i think the sparks bikes had the perfect set up they had a plus 4 and it looked like just the right amount of traction and wheel spin and they use some tires that you get on a atc 110 or something old school looking but they seem to work very well, im either going to run those the next time or the 4 snow tires by maxxis but they are more of a paddle and i want to keep our bike set up the same..and win or lose its all in fun and im always game to do it again and maybe we can get more people to go up there and race im trying to get them to go up for the 4th of july if anyone wants to go.

Wow! I admire your confidence in your builder. However I'm confident that your statement is incorrect.

Raptoraz- Why do you say that? I have yet to see or hear about another raptor that can do the 300 foot in under 4.2 yet. There are a few more craycrafts with a similiar or better build. I have traveled to many different areas over the last few years and not seen any others. Sparks winning FSW's is not as big as some would like you to believe. There is no way sparks would have won FSW 2 if all that were there would have competed. I understand that hillshotting is a big draw out there. ( if i lived that direction i would be into hill shotting myself) But there were a lot of quads at FSW2 that would have put the beat down on the beatdown in flat drags. I have also been to glamis over thanksgiving and was thoughly disapointed in the lack of fast quads. There may have been 250,000 plus people there but just a hand ful of fast ones, banshees includeded.I have no idea if they run 300 foot flat drags in your part of the country but this way and towards the north you will find some wild rides on the sand dragstrips. These quads are built for speed in a straight line only. Raptors out your direction could not beat azsand's bomb from everything io have read and he did not have a 4.2 or a 4.6 quad

Different racing requires different set ups. 300 foot sand drags are not very popular over here. So you don't hear of any fast 300ft drag quads here. Hill shooting is the big game here.

I'm not saying that you Craycraft guys don't build any fast stuff. I'm just saying that you are not making any more power than SPARKS, KENZ, or any other big player. And that will be the case until you start designing and building your own cylinder heads, valve train, and injection set-ups. Until then your not using anything that any of the other builders don't have access to.

2001raptor2001 beat azsand and it was homebuilt . And sparks has a crf 450 nitro alky contraption that could have beat them both IMO.
Ive yet to race either one of them w/ my new build. The sparks 690s that are super fast are his mechanics or his personal freinds. Or just some HIGH $$$ Spenders.JMO
