I must also add, the raptor has a much better power to weight ratio, then the DS does...mainly just stock for stock, i would imagine this still applies. Also you are the Proud owner of a DS yourself, so you will most likely back anything DS makes 100%...I am not like that with Yamaha, and if i feel strongly that something is better or faster i would gladly admit it, im not starting a fight here or saying that you wouldnt agree either.

I was thinking stock the DS power to weight ratio was actually a tad better than the Raptors.

 

I own both quads. I feel the DS is defintely heavier and I've always wish it was as light as the Raptor or near it. The Raptor defintely has better bottom end grunt, but the DS clearly has more of a meaty midrange. Power seems to taper off faster on a Raptor than a DS.

My DS has beaten more Raptors than lost to them. Keep in mind the Raptor has a short swingarm and it's hard to launch it out of the hole. This is where the DS makes a better dragster because of it's front weight. If I had to choose to put a 780 kit with a turbo setup I'd do it on the DS. It might cost more but pushing that kind of power it will be cheaper to start off with a more stable machine.

Also I find the DS a better MXer than the Raptor. Now before you think I'm smoking crack, the DS just handles a rutted track and bad landings so much better. The Raptor feels like it wants to buck me off. Also the track I go to it's imperative to slide around the corners, something the Raptor does absolutely poorly.

Get this... at our local track yesterday my DS buddy was clearing a step up higher than ALL the YFZs, and 450Rs that were out there. I wish I took pics to show and tell.
