Please help with Kodiak Fan Problem
#1
Fellas, sometime last november i posted that i was having a fan problem. I have finally found the time to attack this. The fan doesn't kick in anymore. The fan works perfect with direct power hooked to it. I then jumped the Temp. sensor in the rad. The fan didn't run so the sensor must be fine. My last hope is that their is a relay or fuse somewhere. the fan has to be fused!!??? Under the seat all the fuses are fine as well as the relays. Do any of you have a service manual that would tell you where the fuse or relay is located for this monster?? I can't find it under the seat. Like i said all the fuses in the fuse box are fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated as i now have time to use my machine but can't. Thanks guys.

If you send a direct 12 volts to the fan, it will spin?
Have you checked the circuit breaker? Its under the hood, in the bundle of wires, just ahead of the streering stem. Check it with an ohm meter, and it should have continuity.
If that is fine, then its on to the thermo switch, thats in the radiator. Its supposed to come on at 186 plus or minus 5 degrees. It says to be careful with the switch and dont bang it around. Put it in a pan of water and heat it, use a thermometer to check temp, and a ohm meter to watch for open to closed, accross the two terminals.
