As i was heading home from st anthonys i ran into a guy that had a completly stock rapotor except the fact that he had some nitrous on it.. he picked up the kit for about 400 on ebay.. is it worth running it.. dont u have a high chance of blowing up the engine..?? Also i heard that u need to have the nitrous warmed up to operate right.. he had ran his heater hose around the bottle and thats how he kept it warm.. Is there a high chance of blowing the enigne/?

Nos is very tricky. Your opening a huge can of worm's when you get into NOS. Alba sells a complete kit to set you up with NOS for the raptor. www.albaaction.com

You'll also need a dyna ignition, and some info from around the net.

I'm thinking of the EFI on a 740 for a winter project....or maybe a 740 with 39mm FCR's. I'll figure it out this winter though.

Looks like myself and RaptorOwner think alike.

Nitrous is totally safe...!

Nitrous makes a huge difference. For example. I raced a piped 400ex with my bone stock Warrior. When we shifted into 5th it was about 3-4 tenths ahead of me. When i turned my Nitrous on. I was about 4 tenths ahead of him. So yes it makes a huge difference.

Me myself think Boondockers is outragously to high in price. Almost to the point of Rediculous. Boondockers may sell good products, but they are way to high.

Nitrous can destroy motors, or anything it goes on if you dont do it right.

I dont understand why atv owners are so gun-shy of Nitrous. My Old Warrior was bone stock and had about a 17 horse shot on it. A buddy of mine has a Banshee that is running around a 55 horse shot on it. You dont need this and that. I'll tell you what you need.

Nozzle, Plumbed into intake
Gas/Nitrous solenoid
bottle/ bottle line and braket
microswith or push button. Which ever you prefer.
And probably a swith to arm it.

I can get all the Brand new for under $400

I would suggest Nitrous Express or Cold Fusion Nitrous.

I got to by another nozzle for my banshee. Im putting it on my Banshee next week!

The several people around here that run NOS, use Nitrous Express. You may also want to look into changing your rod and having your crank welded for NOS. That is one thing I would definetly do if I swtiched to the bottle.

And on heating the bottle,

If your riding around your house or playing around u dont need to heat it. Unless its cold weather. If its warm outside thats warm enough for the bottle to be ok. But if you are racing someone get a torch and skim over it a few times. it will heat it in a flash. You want about 800-1100 pds on it. The only real notice you will see in heating it up is the first hit of it. Hits harder. If you are going to do alot of racing i suggest you get a small torch and hook up a Purge kit on it. That way you can heat it up and if the pressure is to high you purge it down some.

But in the winter if the bottle gets cold it wont have much pressure and might not flow. Which means when you get on the nitrous it will lay over cause you got all fuel and nitrous going down the motor.

When I do decide I will sell my FCR's first..... hehehehe it helps to pay for the more expensive fun stuff.
